❤️ RED RISING ❤️

Please let me know your thoughts if you’ve read this book or the whole series!! 💬

In the spirit of getting out of the reading slump, I’ve (Cim) just started reading Red Rising 😻 I’ve had this one for a while, originally bought for my husband but it looks like I’m getting to it first hehe 😛🤣

I was inspired to read this after seeing so many people love it and hearing some amazing reviews from some booktubers I watch all the time 🥰 ( )

So far so good, I’m up to chapter 4 and have really good feelings about this 🙂‍↔️

🩵 MID YEAR WRAP UP 🩵

No idea how it’s literally half way through the year but here we are 🤪 we’ve been a little MIA lately with life being busy but nonetheless we still got a decent amount of reading in, including a buddy read of the first Wheel of Time book! 🗡️

We are looking forward to getting deeper into the WOT series & will be sure to keep you guys posted. Alahna is also still thinking of starting TOG v soon 👀

👁️‍🗨️ The Eye of the World 👁️‍🗨️

Excited and scared 🤣 The Eye of the World is the first book in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series, which we have both recently started 😍

So far so good! Jordan’s writing is so vivid and life like, it’s been fabulous to read this far. I’m certain we will come back with a review soon 🤩

❤️ Book Review ❤️

STOP what you are doing and add this to your TBR right now!! 🤣😍 This book was seriously fantastic and I want everyone to read it. I’ve already secured myself a lovely hardcover 🥰 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sword Catcher is the first book in a new series by Cassandra Claire called The Chronicles of Castellane, and is completely unrelated to any of her other series. From the first pages of reading this book, I was so intrigued. I immediately loved the world building and the imagery I was able to capture in my mind right away, which was a very exciting sign 😌

This book had one of the longest prologues I think I’ve ever read, around 60 pages I believe (don’t quote me if that’s incorrect), but so totally worth it! It really built and captured where the story was headed, and then Chapter 1 took off several years later. Within that time and beyond, you get so much character and story development. There’s definitely loads of plot in this book, which I love 🥰👌🏼

One of my booksta buddies Lindsay , said how this book gave ASOIAF (Game of Thrones) vibes, and I totally get that. You can feel the level of detail Cassandra has gone to to plan out this story, and create histories for the characters and groups of people within it. Just fantastic.

Sword Catcher is criminally underrated on GoodReads, I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I’m calling it now, this is going to be a great one as it builds over the coming years, and as I said, if it’s not on your TBR and you love fantasy.. read this 🤩

So our bookstagram is basically a shrine for SJM at the moment 🤣 BUT we picked these up lastnight at a local kmart & were so thrilled!!

We’ve been on the hunt for the paperbacks and haven’t had much luck lately so may or may not have squealed a lil bit when we saw like 6 box sets of these 🤭😂

Alahna is hoping to start TOG very soon 👀

Surely by now you guys know by now who’s books these are 🤣

Can’t wait to EVENTUALLY get into these, it may be a while away but I’d love to know anyone’s thoughts if you have read these 💬😍 I think it’ll be a fave for me.

I have watched the Netflix show and absolutely loved it, can’t wait for the next season but not so happy about the Geralt exchange 🫠 we shall see about that 🤣
