Throw back to 2016?

Honestly, I don’t need to go back there to see how far I’ve come.

Every day is full of lessons, joy and oodles of blessings.

I’ve learned many things during this past decade:

🔥 You’re not required to set yourself on fire to keep others warm.
🍃 Your life reflects what you choose to tend to… nurture what is most important to you.
🌸 Do it scared; regret lasts longer than failure.

With reviews like these, we know we made some good decisions👇

1️⃣ We spent 3 years perfecting our design when we could have taken much less time, and saved a lot of money on prototyping costs.

2️⃣ We went with Australian made quality, even though we could have done it much cheaper overseas at a lessor standard.

3️⃣ We made it big enough to fit those statement plants that you REALLY don’t want to be lifting, even though a smaller pot would have had a lower RRP.

4️⃣ We have kept our customer service in-house (yes, you’ll deal with our founder, Louise!) rather than outsourcing because our customers are our No. 1 priority and they deserve to have any issue resolved quickly.

5️⃣ We know we were right to hide the wheels even though this had never been done before, because our customers care about function AND aesthetics.

6️⃣ And we were right to invest in UV-stabilised materials because our customers prioritise longevity and durability, not wasting money on pots that will crack and discolor after a short period of time.

It’s been awhile since I said hello! 👋🏻

Boy, it’s been a really busy Dec/Jan here at PerkyPod HQ. I hope everyone has had an equally positive start to 2026!!

There are so many new people starting their plant journey with PerkyPod recently so I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

I am a country girl who grew up in Parkes, Forbes and Glen Innes, which are all small-ish towns in New South Wales, Australia.

I joined the Australian Defence Force straight out of High School and, after living all over Australia and overseas, my husband, three kids and I have happy settled in the beachside city of Newcastle.

I am an engineer and generally find that mindset has me hunting for efficiencies in my daily life as a busy Mum.

One hassle I constantly wanted help solving was caring for my home.

I wanted to clean it quickly, keep it looking beautiful and also get some help from my kids!

I am proudly a houseplant lover but it wasn’t always like that.

I used to kill them all and I often had plant pest infestations.

I always wondered why no plant pots offered drainage solutions given that water is inherent to plants!!

After years looking for a solution, I realised no pot out there gave me a way of thoroughly watering then draining my plants and allowing me to discard of the water. I also wanted wheels.

Too much to ask? Not so. I spent 3 years designing my own solution and we launched PerkyPod nearly 2 years ago.

It’s been a wild ride into the wonderful world of e-commerce and we have shipped plant joy to every corner of Australia!

We’ve won awards, great PR features and even have a patent pending.

We’ve never had a return and every customer review so far has given us a 5-rating and glowing reports.
