When developing a new scent, Vianney combines nostalgic earthen tones and raw textures with inspiration drawn from the mentors, makers and memories that colour her world. Passionate about preserving the art of candle-making, each candle is brought to life with two bare hands - and promises to remain this way. More than just a scent, Hunter Candles is a true olfactory experience. Sartorially-minded from the start, Vianney grew up surrounded by beautiful objects thanks to her mother’s career as a photographer and interior designer. "I remember our house always being full of enormous candles. They were everywhere. Mum used to style them in and amongst a million plants and branches. When I look back at that now, I feel like Hunter Candles are a snapshot of those rooms." It’s Vianney’s honed eye for design and addition to beautiful aromas that combine to create a truly extraordinary approach to scent. • This year, we set out to capture the unmistakable feeling of a messy smooch from Mum, spontaneous, wholehearted, and always arriving when you least expect it.

There’s something quietly profound in the comfort mothers of all kinds offer. A kind of care that resists definition, yet is instantly felt.

For us, it lives in the garden and the kitchen. In the soft trace of rose oil lingering on a sleeve at the end of the day, or the green stain of herbs pressed between fingers, gathered absentmindedly in preparation for dinner.

We wanted to create something that felt elegant yet playful, nostalgic yet entirely real.

This limited edition features a deep red wax, fragranced with tomato leaf, classic garden rose, and geranium, notes drawn from the spaces we return to most: gardens, streets, and the familiar ritual of Mum’s kitchen windowsill.

It’s a scent that feels like that smooch, a little messy, deeply comforting, and always exactly what you need, even in front of your friends. 🍅🌹🍃 •

• Can you believe it? We are 10 years old! It’s our birthday!

From what started out in a really small way, me pouring candles in my Newtown studio apartment, late nights, and many early mornings seeing you all at markets, sharing scents that were inspired by Newtown’s pulse. To now! Two stores, a fabulous team, countless collaborations and a little factory where I still, pour late into the evenings, and are inspired by you all, every day.

It’s been a huge story the past 10 years. We have experienced many unexpected turns, some scary, most incredible. Your part, is crucial. I wake up everyday, thankful and full of gratitude that you continue to welcome us into your lives.

I set out, to pour candles that make people feel something. Whether it’s peace, joy, curiosity or confusion, we feel privileged to continue on this mission.

Thank you for being there with us, we have a little present from tomorrow, for now, just a huge THANK YOU.

Left your gift shopping ‘til… now? Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. There’s still time to explore our collection of inspiration for everyone on your list. Once you’ve found the perfect gift, place your online order in time for Christmas delivery. 

Christmas Shipping Cut Off Dates 17th December.  

Prefer to get your gifting done the old-fashioned way? Our two store’s are open right up until – and including – Christmas Eve. Pop in and peruse our signature scents for yourself, or allow us to guide you to the perfect gift for that special someone – or that someone who’s hard to shop for!

We will also be at the Carriageworks Christmas markets amongst so many talented makers.
