Two thousand years of olives, one really good hand wash.

We make this on the Aegean coast of Turkey, in a region where olives have been grown for at least two thousand years - archaeologists still find oil jars buried in the earth here.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The base is olive oil, turned to soap, softened with coconut oil so it never strips the skin. The scent is Saint-Raphaël, a fragrance Shenol created in Grasse, built around a memory of Istanbul at night, neroli, orange blossom, saffron, cinnamon, a little lemon, and right at the end, a touch of lilac. xx Verity & Shenol

Design Notes: For this Merino Wool Blanket, we chose fine merino fibres specifically for how they sit against the skin, soft from the first touch. The burgundy was selected for the colder months ahead, a depth of colour designed to hold its own against grey skies, made for wrapping around your shoulders while you read or settling into as the temperature drops.

Bill Chen brought the film camera to this shoot. A Leica M6 + Noctilux on Portra 400. Bill has shot with us since almost the beginning. Our photographer and friend, there is no one quite like him for catching the moment before the moment — the quiet between frames.
