Your bedroom is the one space in your home that exists entirely for you. Not for guests. Not for anyone else. Just you.

And yet it’s often the last room we actually put thought into.

The thing about bedding is, it’s low commitment. You’re not repainting walls or replacing furniture. You’re choosing something that can be swapped out, layered differently, evolved as you do. It’s the easiest entry point into a space that actually feels like yours.

Colour and pattern aren’t a risk. They’re the point! ✨🫶🏻

Happy Mother’s Day 🫶🏻

We know how lucky we are to be working mothers who genuinely love what we do. To have families who believe in us, hold the fort, and make it possible for us to build something we care deeply about. That support doesn’t go unnoticed.

And to anyone for whom today feels a little heavier, missing a mum, navigating a complicated relationship with the day, or simply finding it hard, we’re thinking of you too. Mother’s Day holds a lot for a lot of people. There’s room for all of it. 🤍

Wishing everyone a day that feels like exactly what they need ✨

Collection two is in full swing behind the scenes, and we are deep in testing mode!

Patterns on Tencel sound straightforward until you get into it. The same qualities that make Tencel so beautiful: the softness, the smooth surface, the drape, are exactly what makes printing on it technically demanding. Colours can shift. Shapes can distort. So before we commit to anything, we test everything.

We’ve been working through a selection of Pantone colours and shapes on our specific Tencel fabric: the vibrant ones, the deep ones, the ones most likely to cause problems. Wash, dry, friction, repeat. Over and over until we know exactly how each one holds up.

While the test samples are running, the pattern designs are also in progress, and we’ll be sharing more on that side very soon!

Ok so April flew by and we have SO much to catch you up on.

Honestly the best way to describe last month is: good people, good energy, good things happening. We hosted, we collaborated, we tested fabric, and everything’s heading to the right direction!

👉🏻The Kara’s Lounge x The SHAH Closet event was such a vibe.

👉🏻Another event locked in for June that we’re equally excited about.

👉🏻We’ve been quietly working with one of our favourite interior designers on something we think you’ll love, more on that very soon!

👉🏻Deep in fabric testing for the next collection. Digital printing on Tencel is a whole thing.

👉🏻The designs of our next collection is ALMOST there. We know we keep saying it, but we’re genuinely getting closer and we cannot wait to bring you along for the ride.

April, you were a good one 💜

We made ourselves one rule early on, never launch something we wouldn’t buy ourselves.

It sounds simple until you’re deep in supplier back-and-forth, testing round after round, watching other brands drop new products every season.

That part is real. There are days the pace gets to us. Where it feels like we should be moving faster to keep up.

But then we think about every time we’ve bought something that looked great and didn’t last. Something that promised everything and quietly underdelivered. That’s the thing we’re trying not to be.

So we keep going at our own pace. Keep questioning. Keep holding the line.

Everything we put our name on, we put our own money towards first. That’s the standard. And we’re not changing it.

Opening a retail store 8 months in was not on the big business plan. But 5 months ago, we took the leap, signed the lease, and walked into one of the most unexpectedly beautiful chapters of building this brand.

Bringing colourful bedding and homeware to the local Balmain community, having meaningful conversations, and collaborating with like-minded hustlers who are also building their dreams, none of that happens through a screen.

All of this shapes everything we create next. Thank you ❤️

If you haven’t visited us yet, we’d love to see you! Come say hi, feel the fabric in person, and find your colour. You’ll find us on Darling Street, Balmain🫶

SAVE THIS for your next textile purchase 🌿

Before you buy your next textile product, ask yourself: do I actually need this, or do I just want it right now? And when you do need to buy something new, we encourage you to flip the tag.

Not here to shame anyone. We both own things made from synthetic fibres. There’s so much we didn’t know about textile manufacturing and farming before we went deep into building Soon After. It genuinely changed the way we shop.

Australia generates around 800,000 tonnes of textile waste every year. A lot of that comes down to what things are made of: synthetic fibres that can’t break down, sitting in landfill or being shipped overseas out of sight.

Choosing a biodegradable material makes a real difference over time.

So we put together a little guide covering some of the most common fabrics. The ones worth reaching for, the ones worth questioning, and the ones worth avoiding where you can.

Worth noting, fibre type is only part of the story! Durability, certifications, and how something is made matter too.

Happy Earth Day! 🌍

I haven’t stopped thinking about this.

A customer came into our store last week and told us her bedroom had always felt like an afterthought, because it was the one room no one else ever saw. So she’d put all the effort into styling the rest of the house instead.

Until she dressed her bed with our Goldie sheets. The energy of the room completely shifted. A simple touch that added so much personality to the space, and now it just gives her so much joy!

That really stayed with me.

Your bedroom isn’t a showroom. But it still deserves to feel like yours - considered, intentional, a space you actually look forward to coming back to.

That’s exactly what we had in mind when we designed this collection. And hearing that it landed that way for her, that’s everything.

Where does your bedroom sit on your priority list?
