Some projects are all about the finish - and that comes down to technique.
For this corner cabinet flip, I prepped with Zinsser B.I.N Primer (2 light coats with a quick sand in between), then finished with Rust-Oleum Custom Spray 5-in-1 in Earthy Green.
When it comes to spray painting, taking the time to dial in your technique makes all the difference. Practicing controlled, even passes helps you avoid patchiness and build up a smooth, consistent finish.
Quick tip: spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke for even coverage and a professional-looking result!

I really thought I was done with this piece…

Set it up in the guest room, added a mirror on top… everything looked perfect

Then the mirror fell

And scratched the mirror finish underneath

Good thing I’m not superstitious… otherwise all my plans would’ve been shattered… literally

So here we are… redoing a piece I finished last week

Honestly though… I don’t hate it without the mirror

Final reveal… and honestly this one put me through it.

What started as a “quick flip” turned into:
– water damage
– sanding it back… twice
– hating the stain
– making my own custom colour
– panic painting the night before my mother-in-law arrived

And after all that…

We didn’t even end up putting it in the room.

Still… I actually love how it turned out.

Would you have kept the wood… or painted the whole thing?

And be honest… would you have given up halfway through?

Final reveal for the Ivy Lane Challenge

I honestly didn’t know where this one was going at the start… but I’m so happy with where it landed

This piece pushed me a bit. Fixing the split top, changing direction halfway through (goodbye walnut), figuring out the velvet, the mirror… it was a process

But that’s what made it fun

The Glamouratti theme really let me lean into something a bit moodier and more bold than I’d usually go, and I’m kind of obsessed with the end result

Also, one of the best parts of this challenge has been connecting with other furniture flippers. Talking through ideas, sharing tips, ect.

Anyway… this is her final form
