My Story

I started observational sketching and painting when I was a little girl, and was given my first proper set of oil paintings and equipment when I was 11 years old. From there, I developed a passion and love for creating life-like art that captured the image and character of my subjects. I drew for enjoyment right up until I turned 18, when I decided to draw an artwork of my brother’s cowboy boots and hat as his 21st birthday gift. From then on I continued to gift family and friends with my artworks of their precious moments and memories. I felt so warmed to be able to capture and present them to others that I wanted to do more with my art. However, life and my career in teaching took over and I reduced my painting to the odd commission piece here or there. Just over a year ago though, I found myself with a new baby and more flexibility in my life. And so Thea & Chief was born! Over the last year, it has evolved from a little sewing business of boutique baby bibs, to nursing wear, to finally where I am today; creating fine art prints and commissioning unique and personal artworks!

Life is a journey and I am embracing the ride! ~ Hannah K
