Oil painting completed using the Flemish method. Let’s just say there are lots of layers of everything, probably about 20 all in all. I was very pleased with the result, and plan to do more using this method. It’s very rewarding. This painting hangs on our wall at home, too much blood,sweat and tears to sell it. Besides I did this for my husband as a gift as yellow rises have a significant meaning for him.
Edit:- I selected the photos in order of completion, however it has placed them in some random order, No 8 is the finished painting

My inspiration for these slightly abstract Watercolour water lilies came from the water lilies found in our Ross River Townsville where I live. I still have these, as I cannot decide if I want to sell them. I must do some more. Paints used are Daniel Smith and painted on Arches Fine grain Watercolour paper.

I think I have nearly finished, Flemish style oil painting. I have been undertaking lessons with Marion O’Shea along with 2 other friends, this is the culmination of at least 12 layers of paint. I think am now getting the hang of it. Roses are to start next week.
