Tasmanian Oak is where we began, and it’s been a pleasure getting to work with it again. Since the closure of Victorian Logging of Victorian Ash, we have had to transition to an American Oak as our standard timber of choice.

First reason is that no one in Perth supplies dressed (nicely finished) tassy oak boards. They all require a significant amount of machining to get them to ready to work with. We went away from the Aussie hardwood, to go the easy route of having pre dressed timber available for us to use off the rack.

Although this has been a successful transition, and everyone seem to love the new look of our Blonde Oak (American Red Oak, or Glacial Oak are the common names), we still want to be able to provide our customers with Australian Tasmanian Oak products. It’s the nicest looking timber out there in our opinion.

It’s time to bring it back to the shop as one of our premium timber range. Look out for the timber in some new products coming soon 👌🌿
