I had the pleasure of being interviewed last Wednesday with the awesome team at Radio Carrum - with Amy and Tina.

Frankston based multidisciplinary artist, ALISON TEDESCO, joined Ami & Tina to share insight into her first major solo exhibition, ‘Street Stories’, that’s showing at McClelland Gallery. The artwork brings together a series of meticulously crafted miniatures inspired by the urban landscapes of Frankston and beyond. From weathered bus stops to abandoned factories and forgotten corners.

Thanks all for the amazing response to the miniature signal box at Frankston station.

I’ve had lots of comments and some have asked about its future.
So I went straight to the source and here’s what one of the guys let me know that works there-

“At this stage they are looking to get at least another 10 years of service from it ( signal box) - if it lasts that long is another question & when the new company takes over from METRO next year could mean a lot of changes or nothing at all.
We will eventually go to the signal control centre at Kananook and operate every thing from there & then what happens to the signal box is anyone’s guess. It is not heritage listed to the best of my knowledge.”

Ps - The first pic is of the levers inside and also here a pic of the Staff used on the Stony Point & Mornington lines back in the day when it was ‘staff and ticket’ operated.
