When someone doubts you… let your actions speak louder. ❤️
For Michael's school History assessment, my son chose a design and decided to make a dagger himself.
He put the time, effort and creativity into creating it from scratch and proudly took it to school, only to be met with comments from his peers saying that he must have bought it because it was “too good” — and, even more heartbreaking, his teacher told him it was too good to believe that he had actually made it himself.
He came home absolutely devastated and disappointed. 💔
But instead of giving up, he did something that made me incredibly proud.
He went back to the drawing board and spent 9 HOURS making a second dagger.
This time, we documented EVERY. SINGLE. STEP. — with videos and photos throughout the entire process, from start to finish, so there could be absolutely no doubt that he made it himself.
He didn't let being doubted break him.
He used it as motivation. 🔥
As a mum, watching your child put that much determination, patience and pride into something they have created themselves is pretty special.
Never underestimate what you're capable of. And never let someone else's doubt make you doubt yourself.
I couldn't be prouder of you, Michael. ❤️
