Letshaveayarn

Letshaveayarn Lets Have A Yarn is a small batch handmade store selling crochet products. Custom requests are welcomed! My name is Bec, the face behind Lets Have A Yarn.

Some of the products you can expect to find are wearables, blankets, baby toys, household resuables, and gifts. I live in gorgeous Yass in regional NSW, Australia with my husband, two cats, and our dog. I love nothing more than crocheting lovely things for you all - and sometimes for myself too! I also love drinking bucket loads of tea (in fact I have one right now), gardening, reading, baking, re

watching the office for the 1000th time, talking to my pets, and chilling out with my hubby and loved ones. I am a self-taught crocheter, I love working with my hands and get so much joy from making things with yarn and putting love into every stitch. I consider it a privilege to be able to make useful and treasured things for people.

📸🤩 Finally got my last few rolls of film processed! Pretty happy with these shots as I continue to practice. Love that I can access the scans now and can’t wait to get my hands on the prints when they arrive.

More to share but here are some snaps of a day down at when Nanna and Papa were visiting back in February.

Thank you - first time making use of your services and the process was easy and clear to follow even with posting my rolls. Will definitely be back 🌟 thank you for these images 🥹🫶

🐥 DUCK CAKE 🐥 doubt at my chances of achieving this fuelled this cake to life 🤣💪

Feeling a real bond with Bandit Heeler now 😝💙 thanks for the renewed popularity on this one…I think 😅😮‍💨

So proud I figured it deserved a permanent place on the grid!

Two months of procrastination and flat packs sitting on the floor…and all I had to do was get my mallet from the shed and now I have some more craft room storage and (almost) a standing workbench/cutting table! It did not take as long as I thought it would 💪😝

Just need to get some wood to make a worktop and another piece of the craft room puzzle will be in place! Bit by bit I’ve been bringing this room together over the last almost six years 😅😮‍💨

I also cleared my sewing desk and will hopefully get back into more learning there also 😍

More to declutter and pack away but that’s a job for another weekend. Thinking we need to do a garage sale soon! Slow and steady progress is still progress!

A day of calm through carving for four new spoon carvers 🪵

Had a fabulous day assisting teaching some new spoon carvers and carving alongside them. 🥰

Amazing to see how each person bought their individual spoon to life and how unique the all were! I learned lots even from just observing others learn.

It was also a confidence boost to see and feel how my carving confidence has come along. Still very much to learn (as always in life!) but I am so proud of this spoon and having done as much as I’ve ever done without much guidance 🌟

🪵 The Spoon Diaries is back 🪵 Got back on the tools today with a little home setup thanks to the generosity and provision of who graciously loans his gear to me!

You can see where this pin oak started from after I had split it up to where I got it to today.

Super proud of myself as this is my first time doing the process from the the log to splitting to axeing without any guidance. Safe to say it’s rough as guts but even if this spoon doesn’t succeed I will have learned a lot and built confidence in myself.

Blisters on my hand from lots of axe work but had a great time making a pile of wood chips on our deck 😝

Honestly very scared and self conscious to post this! My thoughts aren’t helpful so I am posting anyway as a kind of anti-perfectionism therapy 😝

I can think of a thousand ways it could be better, I’m never going to feel it’s perfect enough for me to share, I should practice more, I’m not very good, it’s too hard to learn as an adult, I’ll never get good enough to learn and play some of my favourite songs etc etc!

But I don’t want to give up - I want to keep working on it and not quit when I’m not “perfect” as quickly and irrationally as my brain wants.

This is one of the things I’ve ever been consistent at for this long! Looking forward to more piano lessons in 2026 🎹

Should I share more piano progress?
