A House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing completely derailed into a fiery partisan showdown.While testifying under oath, Secretary of State Marco Rubio vigorously defended President Trump's work ethic, maintaining that he has "never seen" the president fall asleep during official business. On the contrary, Rubio argued, "the guy doesn't sleep... he calls me at 2 in the morning." California Representative Ted Lieu immediately pulled up the receipts. Lieu played video clips directly in the hearing room showing a May Cabinet meeting where President Trump appeared slumped in his chair, fast asleep right next to Rubio while Rubio was actively speaking. "You are literally talking about issues of war and peace, and Donald Trump is sleeping right next to you," Lieu declared, accusing the Secretary of State of misleading Congress.
