La Vie en Rose viert de kracht van verleiding zonder zichzelf ooit volledig prijs te geven. Organische vormen vloeien in elkaar over als lichamen in beweging, terwijl glanzende lagen van zelfontwikkelde glazuren langs het oppervlak stromen als herinneringen, emoties en verlangen.

Het werk speelt met contrasten: zacht en krachtig, speels en intens, kwetsbaar en sensueel. Vanuit elke kijkhoek onthult de sculptuur nieuwe lijnen, openingen en details, waardoor de toeschouwer wordt uitgenodigd om steeds opnieuw te ontdekken. De geïntegreerde glaselementen vangen het licht en geven het werk een levendige, bijna ademende aanwezigheid.

La Vie en Rose gaat niet alleen over romantiek, maar over de schoonheid van overgave, verbinding en het vieren van het leven in al zijn imperfecte, kleurrijke intensiteit.

La Vie en Rose celebrates the power of seduction without ever fully revealing itself. Organic forms flow into one another like bodies in motion, whilst shimmering layers of self-developed glazes flow across the surface like memories, emotions and desire.

The work plays with contrasts: soft and powerful, playful and intense, vulnerable and sensual. From every angle, the sculpture reveals new lines, openings and details, inviting the viewer to discover it anew time and again. The integrated glass elements catch the light and give the work a vibrant, almost breathing presence.

La Vie en Rose is not just about romance, but about the beauty of surrender, connection and celebrating life in all its imperfect, colourful intensity.

Zelfontwikkelde glazuren en glasintegratie

Dit werk ontstond zonder vast plan. Vanuit verschillende soorten en kleuren klei groeide de vorm intuïtief, laag per laag.

Drie openingen bepalen het ritme van de sculptuur. Ze bewegen elk in hun eigen richting, dicht bij elkaar maar zonder samen te vallen. Er is contact, maar geen verbinding — een vorm die zich niet laat vastleggen.

Tijdens het stoken neemt het materiaal het deels over. Glazuren vloeien, mengen en reageren met het ingewerkte glas. Wat zichtbaar wordt, is geen afwerking maar een spoor van hitte, tijd en beweging.

De huid oogt ruw en levendig, alsof ze gevormd is door iets natuurlijks. Het werk balanceert tussen groei en verstilling, tussen controle en loslaten.

Geen gebruiksobject, maar een vrije vorm.

Ongebonden.

Homemade glazes and glass integration

This work came about without a fixed plan. Using different types and colours of clay, the form grew intuitively, layer by layer.

Three openings define the rhythm of the sculpture. Each moves in its own direction, close together but without converging. There is contact, but no connection — a form that defies definition.

During firing, the material takes over to some extent. Glazes flow, blend and react with the incorporated glass. What becomes visible is not a finish but a trace of heat, time and movement.

The surface appears rough and vibrant, as if shaped by something natural. The work balances between growth and stillness, between control and letting go.

Not a functional object, but a free form.
