Sorry to all my followers for my lack of consistency in posting.

Landscapes are the least common paintings I do. But I enjoy the challenge of them and I am eager to improve.
A tip I've learned over time, is to use darker values for the portions of the painting that are closer, and lighter values further away, to create distance.
I've tried to apply this method in this watercolour painting of a beautiful view from a hike. 🏔️🌲⛅️

The request for the background was for a “Frog & Toad” style art.
I loved that series when I was younger.

I have heard later from some of them, whom I’ve gifted a similar card, that they end up being framed and added to the nursery.
