Three full days back home in Canada, and we jumped right back in with an Ed Sheeran concert downtown at the Rogers Centre, my first time seeing a show there! Despite our heavy jet lag making us feel like we could fall asleep right through the blasting music, it was such a fun experience. We fueled up on overpriced chicken nuggets, fries, and beer during the pre-show and main event.

Getting home around 12:40 AM with my usual nervous subway ride behind us, I’m definitely ready to kick the sickness and exhaustion. But even with the fatigue, it’s so fun experiencing parenthood and doing things we never would have thought of before. So much to look forward to, maybe our next concert will feature whatever music our little one is into!

We finally made it back to Canada! Our last night in Sri Lanka was spent at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, which made the ride to the airport super short and fast. Immigration was a breeze, and the flight went really well. The baby only took two short naps and was busy walking around most of the time, but thankfully there were no tantrums!

When we landed in London, family picked us up and drove us to their place. It was so sweet, the baby met two of her little cousins for the first time! After resting and catching up, we even squeezed in a quick trip to a local supermarket (which was high on my husband's wishlist, lol).

Family drove us back to the airport for the final stretch, and let me tell you, the flight from London to Toronto was the smoothest ever. She slept the entire way, only waking up briefly for a bottle before falling right back asleep. Such a little angel and the best tiny traveler.

We are definitely feeling the jet lag and missing everyone already, but it was such a wonderful trip and I'm so glad we made it happen.

This was our last night under the roof of my childhood home. To make our travel day easier, we checked into a hotel near the airport, though parting ways with my dad, sister, and brother-in-law was incredibly difficult.

We've settled into our room after a brief walk around the hotel shops. The baby is resting for a bit before we go out for dinner. Leaving is bittersweet; knowing I will come back doesn't make this goodbye hurt any less.

Yesterday marked my third and final Ayurvedic massage. Even though it was quite intense, I thoroughly enjoyed it and left feeling completely relaxed.

Later, I carved out some time to go shopping with my sister. We picked up some new clothes and a few local snacks to bring back home with us. The day had a strange, paradoxical feel to it. It felt long, yet it slipped away in an instant. With only a couple of days left at my childhood home, I'm soaking up every last bit of comfort before we pack our bags and return to our daily routines.

The first few nights here brought a wave of nostalgia, sparking a strong urge to reach out to old friends. It made me a bit sad to realize how many connections have faded over time. But I’ve come to accept that this is simply how life works; everyone has built their own busy paths.
Still, I am so grateful to have this sanctuary to return to, sharing quality time with my dad and sister, walking through nature, and enjoying fresh fruit straight from the trees.

I’m going to miss this so much.

Yesterday, I went for my second Ayurvedic massage, an experience that is much more of a therapeutic workout than a relaxing spa day. The therapist zeroed in on my tension knots, working hard to release them all over my head, face, and body. Afterward, I stepped into a steam box to sweat it out, an intense experience for someone who is claustrophobic, though my therapist kindly stayed by my side the whole time. Much like a lymphatic drainage massage, it is deeply active rather than restful, but I can already feel the benefits. I'm genuinely excited to go back.

Diary of an aspiring artist….

I’m currently on vacation visiting my dad and sister, and I’ve really tried to lean into letting go of daily stresses and just relaxing.
It’s so weird, though, when I’m away on vacation, I miss my home and my routines. Especially being able to paint banners and create things for my daughter. But then when I’m home, I miss the rest of my family so much.
I used to be in such a rush to grow up when I was a kid. Now? I’d trade almost anything to go back to being a kid with zero responsibilities.
I’ve been on parental leave for the past 12.5 months, and I head back to work soon. I’m honestly so nervous about leaving my baby; we haven't spent much time apart at all so far. My big goal is to grow and improve my banner business so I can stay home and have flexible hours to be with her. Just figuring things out and setting some life goals.
Anyways, until next time. Good night.

A little bit of magic for a very special milestone. I had so much fun painting this fairy themed banner for Evi’s first birthday! There’s nothing quite like hand painted details to make a celebration feel extra magical. Happy 1st Birthday, my sweet girl! 🧚‍♀️🍄🌸

It’s Luca’s birthday!!!This one was a ton of fun ☺️☺️
