🎀 POST 1/5 | OLD RIBBONS • NEW MEANING
I've collected pieces from Tocara's Debbie Collection for years.
This morning I pulled some of them out and spread them across the table. Different years. Different designs. Some I've worn often, some I'd almost forgotten I had.
I originally chose them because I liked them, and because supporting breast cancer research seemed like a worthwhile thing to do.
I never imagined that one day I would be wearing Debbie jewellery while going through my own breast cancer journey.
Funny how an old symbol can suddenly acquire an entirely new meaning.
Today is October 1, the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Tocara has launched its 2026 Debbie Collection with the message:
🎀 SPARK HOPE. CHANGE LIVES.
This year I wanted to know exactly what that support means.
Tocara states that purchases from the new Debbie Collection generate a 10% donation toward Breast Cancer Research & Awareness. The campaign runs throughout October, while supplies last. FlashSale_September25_EN
There are new pieces and special offers, and we'll look at those later.
But this morning isn't really about shopping.
For years, I wore Debbie in support of someone else's story.
This year, unexpectedly, I'm part of the story too.
And perhaps that's one of the reasons we support research even when we think it has nothing to do with us.
Because someday, it might. 🎀
💗 Has a cause, symbol or tradition ever taken on a completely different meaning for you because life suddenly made it personal?

🚐💙 MEET THE DREAM WAGON

Over on my personal page, I introduced the Dream Wagon as part dream, part future possibility and part invitation to adventure.

Here at Shelagh’s Scintillating Shee, she has another role: she brings all the different parts of my little business together.

Open one door and you may find the creativity, useful discoveries and market treasures of Merchant’s Hall.

Open another and you’ll discover the quieter comforts, practical self-care and conversation of Sanctuary Spa.

And because the Dream Wagon is still partly imaginary, she operates according to narrative capacity rather than ordinary cubic footage. She is part TARDIS, part Mary Poppins carpet bag—and always large enough to carry the next adventure.

This isn’t simply a place where I sell things. It is where I share what I’m learning, introduce things I genuinely enjoy and invite you into the conversation.

I absolutely want you in the story.

❓ **If the Dream Wagon arrived at your door, which would you explore first—Merchant’s Hall, Sanctuary Spa or the mysterious cupboard we haven’t opened yet?**

🐝💜 BEE KIND HAPPY MAIL! 💜🐝

A little Happy Mail is fluttering out of Shelagh’s Scintillating Shee! 📬

I have a limited number of these sweet little Bee Kind Chalk Couture mini project kits, and I’m sending one to a new home somewhere in Canada.

It’s a tiny project with lots of possibilities. Use the design on a tag, card, sign, pouch, little piece of décor...or see where your own creativity takes you. 🎨

And because this little bee has a message worth sharing, here’s how to enter:

💜 Tell me in the comments about something kind someone has done for you lately.

Big gesture or tiny moment, they all count.

Everyone who answers here, on my personal page, or in Shelagh’s Scintillating Shee Merchant’s Hall will go into the same Bee Kind Happy Mail draw.

🐝 One entry per person overall. If you’ve already entered elsewhere, you’re already in the draw, although you’re certainly welcome to keep spreading the kindness here!

📬 Happy Mail details: Open to Canadian residents age 18+ with a Canadian mailing address. No purchase necessary. Entries close Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. ET. One recipient will be randomly selected and contacted by me.

This Happy Mail comes from my personal Chalk Couture stash and is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook or Chalk Couture.

Shelagh Collard | Chalk Couture Independent Designer

🐝 Small project.
💜 Little kindness.
📬 Happy Mail.

⛵️🌿 SANCTUARY SPA GOES SAILING!

Wellness products don't always live in a bathroom cabinet.

Sometimes they live aboard a sailboat. 😂

Aboard Chester Longtree, space is precious, so the products we bring along have to be genuinely useful in everyday life.

Today's little floating wellness crew includes:

🌊 Assure | motion comfort for travel
⚓️ Liberty | balance and mobility
💜 Freedom | everyday comfort
🧘‍♀️ Zen | mindful clarity and focus

They're compact, easy to carry and have earned their place aboard our Thousand Islands floating office.

Because apparently Merchant's Hall isn't the only Shelagh's Scintillating Shee division capable of going nautical. 😂⛵️

Sanctuary Spa has officially left the bathroom cabinet.

It's now cruising the St. Lawrence. 🌊💜
