At Briar Hill, the breakfast station was designed around the way the clients actually use the room.

Everyday appliances and essentials remain accessible while the station is in use. The pocket doors recess fully into the cabinetry, the work surface stays open, and the storage below supports the same daily routine.

When breakfast is finished, the entire station closes away.

When I work on a floor plan, I am thinking about more than circulation. I am considering sightlines, furniture placement, lighting—and where my clients’ art and collected pieces will live.

A 591 lb charcoal oven needs more than a place to sit.

At Briar Hill, the Mibrasa oven was one decision. Making it work required site measurements, installation planning, and a custom-designed stand with integrated storage.

The equipment, location and surrounding design had to be considered together—not treated as separate decisions after the fact.

At Briar Hill, the pantry was designed so everyday staples, bulk items and cookware can be seen, reached and returned without digging through deep shelves.

Pullout and slide-over functions bring the contents forward and make the full depth of the pantry useful.
Busy households do not simply need more places to store things. They need storage that makes the kitchen easier and more efficient to use.

I was born 40.

Even when I was young, I cared about quality, details, plans and understanding how everything fit together.

Apparently, that serious brain stayed.

Now it is thinking through floor plans, sightlines, lighting, materials, construction details and the finished vision—keeping the moving parts connected so my clients do not have to carry all of them.

I can laugh at myself.

But when it comes to good design and getting it right, I am very serious.
