Paint party among the horses. Yes, really. 🐴🎨

We set up our easels inside the barn at Bellewood Equestrian in Pickering. Candles lit, horses looking on from their stalls, charcuterie bites from Belmont Grazing in hand, refreshing cucumber water. The energy in that barn was something else.

Big thanks to Stableworks and Bellewood Equestrian for teaming up with us on this one, and to everyone who came out and painted with us. What an evening.

Paint in the Orchard at Kent Farms 🍎🎨

Rows of apple trees, festoon lights coming on as the sun went down, soft music, and a whole lot of laughing. This one was special.

Huge thanks to holistic nutritionist Lisa Berry for joining us, and to Refined Indulgence for the dark chocolate date bites that disappeared fast. Add farm-to-table food and mocktails that were just as good as the view, and it was a pretty perfect Newcastle night.

Thank you to everyone who came out and painted with us, and to Kent Farms for the most beautiful setting.

Okay friends, October is FULL of paint parties and I'm so excited about this lineup 🍂

If you've never been to one, here's the deal: you don't need to know how to paint. I walk you through it step by step, you laugh a lot, and you go home with something you'll actually want to hang up. Here's where you can find us this month:

Oct 6, Yardbird in Bowmanville, 5:30pm ($90)
Three-course dinner, then we paint that cute little teal truck on a fall road. Great date night or girls' night.

Oct 7, Jungle Cat World in Orono, 6pm ($90)
Dinner, painting, AND the animals. This one's fun for the whole family.

Oct 14, Gardenerette in Bowmanville, 6pm ($75)
One of my favourites. We paint fall florals right in the greenhouse with charcuterie and mocktails, and everyone takes a plant home 🌻

Oct 18, Sir Monty's in Courtice, 1pm ($35)
Kids' party! Bring your little artists for an afternoon of paint, juice and pumpkins. You might even get a coffee in peace.

Oct 27, Sir Monty's in Courtice, 7pm ($55)

🎸 Live music at the Fall Artisan Market 🍂

Meet the voice behind this weekend's soundtrack: Peter Schmahl Music.

Peter got his start in the '80s with the band Nytrix before trading rock for country. Since then, his originals have landed on indie charts on Spotify, including Pictures and 16 Times. He also co-wrote In My Arms with our own Amy Pitman.

Nowadays you'll find him on stages across Durham Region, Muskoka and the Kawarthas. He plays Alan Jackson, Neil Young, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, Jamey Johnson and plenty more, plus a few of his own.

On September 23rd we're painting under elegant festoon lights in the beautiful orchard at Kent Farms in Newcastle, with holistic nutritionist Lisa Berry.
