We try to follow as many traditions as possible for our children to experience. Yesterday, we washed our hair and cleaned our house. Today, we wore red, gave our children lucky money in a red envelope and ate dumplings. Did you know it’s taboo to do needlework 🪡 on CNY? It’s thought to deplete wealth and can lead to a difficult work load in the coming year. I’m not sure how much of it actual works but I took a rest day today and will be back at it tomorrow 😝. In the meantime, a portrait of my family ❤️

A humble little house with big memories for my first stitched house 💕. Seeing my childhood home is always sentimental and I knew it would be the perfect project to start on after a month of studying the book Hand-Stitched House by Theresa M Lawson . Can’t wait to do more homes and will be adding it to my Etsy shop.

Get ready for winter! We had our first snowstorm start yesterday with 15cm of snow and 50km/hr winds. And it’s still snowing!! Going to stay home for the next while and busy myself with Xmas stitch orders.
