Motherhood has been a wild ride, I haven’t drawn or picked up a pencil until about 3 weeks ago. It’s been almost 2 years since. One half of me has been so busy, especially as my child is in the thick of toddlerhood. Balancing home, work and social life has been a clusterf*k. Meanwhile the other half of me has been battling the lows of being a mother.
I saw someone on TikTok talk about how the worst place to be is in between chapters of your life. The ending of the previous phase and entering a new one. This is only the worst place to be if you are unable to accept the new chapter or unwilling to let go of the past. Being a mom is a beautiful thing, it really is but it tears you apart from who you were, your identity is torn to shreds. No one can truly help you through this phase but you. It’s all about growth and bouncing back. Possibly over and over again. It can be isolating, At least for me, every mom out there has experienced different seasons of their chapters, rough or smooth.
Art will be a new beginning for me as I have lost some muscle memory and I am not at my best. I have been revisiting old projects and restarting them and or redrawing completed ones just to get back into it. I want to rebuild myself and accept this new page in life. Will I take requests? Maybe, do I want to continue stationery? Yes, yes I do but I need to find my groove again and I don’t want to let anyone down, so for now I will post what I am working on and go from there
