AI is certainly helping homeowners visualize and imagine possibilities of what their dream home could look like. But getting there is a whole different story and something that AI is not smart enough to handle.

Lets face it, AI simply can’t replace:

1️⃣ A designer’s judgment and taste: Our ability to look at client’s inspiration pictures and advise which one is right for their house or budget is something AI can’t do.

2️⃣ A designer’s ability to go in store and curate a selection of materials and finishes that are carefully chosen for the client’s lifestyle.

3️⃣ A designer’s presence at site visits: AI can’t build trade relationships, or walk them through drawings to ensure designs are executed perfectly or identify if something is wrong during a site walk.

4️⃣ A designer’s strategic thinking: Our ability to understand a client’s whole life, not just their kitchen is something AI definitely can’t do. Seeing what the client actually needs vs what they asked for. We are professionals who take into consideration our clients expectations and budget before presenting any designs.

Trust takes years to build and referrals come from humans. It’s as simple as that!

Who’s going to see ‘Michael’ ??

I can’t remember the last time I went to see a movie and this is one that I was NOT going to miss watching in theatres.

Anyways, here’s a little throwback to that was featured in ⭐️

From builder basic to elevated ✨

The client wanted their guest bathroom to feel inviting and bright so we gave their outdated vanity and finishes a full refresh.

I named this stunning wallpaper “Peacock” because it had those deep rich blue and turquoise tones 🦚

Which snippet from this project recap caught your eye? I’d love to know! 😍

❌ Buying a rug that’s too small. Always measure the floor area, layout the furniture pieces with masking tape (if they are not present) and make sure the rug is large enough to go under your furniture, including the sofa(s) or bed. If the rug is only covering the area under the coffee table then it’s too small!

❌ Buying matching furniture. Your sofa and coffee table don’t have to match, your bed frame, nightstands and dresser don’t have to come from the same prodcut line. You don’t want things to look matchy-matchy, you want it to look layered and collected.

❌ Buying curtains that are too short! Curtains should skim or lightly touch the floor - if it’s floating above the floor, it’s too short! And if you can’t find curtains that are the long enough in store, then consider going custom - it’ll make all the difference.

❌ Hanging paintings too high. Rule of thumb is to mount the frame so that the middle of the artwork is 57-60” from the floor. And if you are hanging it above your sofa, bed or a console table, then it should be 4-8” above, not more!

Back at the Interior Design Show after a few years away, and it felt so good to be immersed in the industry again 🤍

Despite the freezing cold weather and a snowy weekend, we made it to the show and I’m so glad we did. Feeling inspired, re-energized, and excited for what’s ahead. One of the highlights was bumping into some of you who follow me here and subscribe to my channel — meeting you in person truly made my day!!

I was a little surprised by the lack of bath + shower vendors. Not many vanities on display, which felt like a missed opportunity—especially when bathroom renovations are always in demand.

If you attended the show - what did you like the most?
