Horsman's Hearth

Horsman's Hearth Specializing in the cyanotype printing process and the traditional craft of hand-dipped candles.

All Hearthside Rituals products are sold as curios and although can be very helpful when channeling energy to effect change, they are not a substitute for professional medical care. If the later is something that you feel that you need, don't stay quiet; talk about what you need help with and reach out to a friend, someone else close to you or a medical professional.

Been quiet lately, but spending tremendous effort in the planning for fall candle making, and excited to bring it to market. Fingers crossed of course. 😉

Reaching for this cute tea infuser from Sea Siren's Charms to set the mood and enjoying my English roses during their blooming season. This one is Desdemona from David Austin Roses .

Happy Solstice everyone!
Just a quick note to say that Horsman’s Hearth turned 5 in March which is quite a milestone. Thanks for the continued support. Still out here doing my thing when I can and planning to be at some in-person markets this fall/winter. In the meantime you can find my work at Inkwell Modern Handmade .

A few days late, but altar refreshed, and candles lit for my yuletide ritual.

Hoping this transitional time is soft for all those who observe. This new year will bring about the Hearth's fifth birthday.

Thank you to all who've supported since the beginning; in whatever way you have, and especially to those who make space for my candles in your budget. This upcoming milestone wouldn't feel so creatively affirming without you.

There is so much folklore attached to the Winter Solstice is hard to share it in your own words without sounding too preachy.

But what I will say is this; use this transitional time as the impetus behind this new year of becoming. Set that baggage down; you've been carrying it for far too long. Cozy in and think not of how much there is unfinished, or yet to do, but focus on how much you've already achieved; I'll belt there is a great amount to celebrate.

From this hearth to yours may the Solstice be as bright as all of our potential.

✨️Bayberry Candles ✨️

Bay is THE protection and abundance herb for home and personal use. Gifted during Yule especially heightens that intention as you're traditionally nesting down for the cold dark months of the year.

Apologies but there is an extremely limited supply this time around. Available at in-person markets only and limited per customer!

In total there will be 3 bundles of the above (1 x candle holder, 3 x bayberry tapers) and handful of single tapers after that.

Wax extracted from coastal Cape Breton bayberries; harvested with the help of the witches if , and mixed with our standard beeswax in elegant twist form.

Mullein Torches or Hag Torches are some of my favourite things to make. Always an outdoor-only candle; there is truly nothing like lighting one in the snow for the Winter Solstice.

Photo one is of some recently-gathered stocks which will eventually be made into torches for gifts. However, it begs the question of if you all would like to see mullein torches added to my offerings for 2026?

Let me know in the comments.
