Waking up to an extra quiet, extra grey day and loving how restful it feels. 🩶

This layer of low-slung clouds muffle the noise, dampen the energy, soften the light... sort of giving me permission to slow right down with them, have a second cuppa, take a deeper breath and listen to the rhythm of the raindrops for a moment.
*
As usual, taking my cues from nature and letting the weather dictate my day. Will be one of those quiet, thoughtful, purposeful, inside-stories-in-the-studio kind of day that I relish. Hope you have a good one too 🙂

The season of Sweeping Skies begins today. Let's get up with the sun, watch while it sets and dance under stars 💗

My plan for the next number of months is lots of time chasing clouds, breathing with the wind and looking to the sky for moments of calming, grounding, open-aired peace. Ideas and inspiration are waiting for me out there and I can't wait to find them, feel them, paint them and then share them with you.🙂

I'm a 'Peony season Forever' kind of gal 🌸

715am and I'm outside with a cup of tea seeing what's what in the garden, counting the buds on my peonies and hoping they bloom this year.

It's one of the few plants I was able to transplant from my mother's garden and it has never really been happy in it's new home here with me. I don't blame it really - I'd be happier in my mum's garden too.

So while the brushstrokes are mine, the petals will always be my mum's 💗

Intentionally playful, willfull wild, cheerfully bright and so very alive, this particular painting - set off against a clear blue 'sky' - captures the youthful, energetic spirit of spring in a super eye-catching way. Trust me, it was as fun to paint as it looks!
