🛡️ Tallow Every product we create begins with simple, honest ingredients — grass-fed tallow, botanicals, and oils — transformed through time-honored craftsmanship into refined, modern skincare. Rooted in the traditions of our ancestors and guided by the land, Okema Designs embodies the spirit of legacy, love, and authenticity. Our philosophy is simple: what is made by hand carries the warmth of the maker, and what comes from nature restores balance to the skin. From our Heritage Luxe Tallow Balms to our seasonal Whipped Sugar Scrubs and Soaking Salts, each creation tells a story — of heritage, craft, and quiet luxury. ✨

When One Chapter Comes to a Close 🌿

There is a season for planting, a season for tending, and a season for laying things gently to rest.

After much reflection, the time has come to close the doors on Cindy's Petals & Tallow.

What began with a love for the land, the wisdom of generations past, and the simple goodness of nature became something I was blessed to share with others.

To every soul who supported this little venture, whether through a purchase, a kind word, or simply following along, you have my heartfelt gratitude.

Our products will no longer be available, and these pages will soon grow quiet.

But the old ways do not disappear when the work is laid down. They live on in the hands that remember.

With gratitude,
Cindy

The roots remain, even when the seasons change.

Six days to go! 🌾

A little reminder that you'll find a bit of Cindy's Petals & Tallow already waiting on the shelves at JW Farm Fresh Greens for their August 30th Farm Stand.

Our 1846 Heritage Tallow — pure, hand-rendered tallow made from locally sourced suet — along with our simple Heritage Tallow Lotion Bars, made with just tallow & local beeswax.

And from the sounds of things, you might want to leave a little room in your basket. Sourdough, cinnamon buns, local makers, harvest displays… and apparently some exciting news yet to come. 😉

August 30 • 12–3 pm

We're awfully proud to see something made here on our Alberta family farm sitting alongside the work of other local hands. ❤️

Local supporting local. Just as it should be. 🌻

Something we don’t often offer but are proud to be in collaboration with an amazing local farmstand in Fort Sask!

Our pure, hand-rendered beef tallow has traditionally been available by special order only.
Now, for the first time, we’re bringing a small batch of our 1846 Heritage Tallow to JW Farm Fresh Greens

Made exclusively from leaf fat (suet) from cattle raised on our Alberta family farm, then slowly hand-rendered in small batches.

Nothing added. One ingredient. From our pasture to your jar.

Only a handful of 500 ml jars will be available.

She makes the most amazing sourdough breads, bagels and more! Be sure to check her items out 🙂

You’ll also find our Heritage Tallow Lotion Bars at the farm stand.

🌿 DID YOU KNOW?

Many tallow skincare products rely on essential oils.

Ours begins with the whole plant.

Before a single jar is poured, whole herbs are slowly infused into nourishing oils using botanicals we can trace right back to our own Alberta farm or to local growers.

Time is one of our ingredients.

Some of our botanical infusions mature for up to 24 weeks before they're ever blended into a finished product.

Every infusion is made in small batches, carefully strained by hand, and started from scratch.
It's a deliberate way of working—one rooted in craftsmanship, stewardship, and respect.

This isn't a method we discovered online or followed because it became popular.
It's a way of working that's been handed down through our family since 1846.

Know Your Source.
Because every jar has a story long before it has a label.❤️

Real nutrition, straight from our Alberta soil. 🚜🌾

At Cindy’s Petals and Tallow, "Farm to Face" isn't a marketing trend—it’s our daily labor. We don't buy pre-rendered tallow, and we never outsource our infusions. Every jar of our Calendula Triple-Infused Tallow Balm starts with raw suet we render ourselves "the old way" to protect every drop of skin-mimicking nutrition.

This new batch is the ultimate expression of that patience:

Homegrown Healing: Organic calendula petals, hand-picked from our garden and dried until crispy to preserve their resin-rich potency.

Triple-Infused Strength: We steep our tallow with fresh petals three separate times in the dark, allowing it to pull in maximum anti-inflammatory power for reactive or sensitive skin.

The Signature Glow: Because we use grass-fed tallow, this batch has that beautiful natural golden hue—a sign of the beta-carotene and vitamins A, D, E, and K your skin actually recognizes.

No industrial processing. No white-labeling.
Just pure, sun-drenched herbs and pasture-raised care.
