That's the reality BC Hydro is staring down right now, and if industrial electrification keeps accelerating, the crunch could hit as early as this year.
The window to get ahead of this is closing fast. The projects that need to happen are massive, the timeline is tight, and the demand for experienced electrical crews is only going to get more competitive.
This is exactly the kind of moment Summit was built for.

Western Canada is in an electrical build cycle unlike anything we've seen in 50 years.
And here's the thing, the infrastructure holding it all together wasn't built for this. Most of it is over 50 years old, carrying loads it was never designed to handle. Aging switchgear, outdated panels, systems that haven't been touched in decades.
Meanwhile the demand just keeps coming. Oil sands electricity use jumped 24% in four years. BC Hydro needs 3,700 MW by 2029 just to break even. Mine electrification, fleet decarbonization, LNG, it's all hitting at once.
This isn't a "someday" problem for a lot of Western Canadian operators. It's already on their doorstep.
That's exactly why Summit exists, to show up with the right people and actually get the work done.
