For months, I’ve been hovering on the edge of giving up. The joy felt heavy, the inspiration felt forced, and I started wondering if the passion I used to have for creating had simply dried up for good. I was ready to pack up the supplies, close the door on that chapter, and just stop.
But today, everything changed.
I spent the afternoon at a Mom & Me Resin Workshop, and I wasn’t just reminded of how to create, I was reminded of why I do it.
Why Today Mattered
The Magic of Firsts: Seeing someone realize they can actually make something beautiful with their own two hands.
The Power of Connection: Using art as a bridge to bring people together, creating a space where they can laugh, bond, and be still for a moment.
The Beauty in the Mess: Remembering that creativity isn’t about perfection; it’s about the heartbeat behind the piece.
The Turning Point
I realized that I wasn’t tired of creating; I was just tired of doing it in a vacuum. My passion isn’t just about the finished product it’s about community. It’s about the look on a child’s face when their project hardens into a masterpiece. It’s about the quiet conversations that happen over a shared craft table.
To anyone else out there feeling like their fire has gone out: don’t give up yet. Sometimes you just need to step away from your own desk and look at the world through someone else’s eyes.
Thank you to everyone at the workshop today for reigniting my heart. I’m not hanging up my apron just yet. We’re just getting started
