A little sketching, a little dancing… it’s all part of my creative process. 💃

Movement has always been another creative outlet for me, and when I’m working on a new piece, you’ll often find me dancing or swaying along as I go. It helps me get into the zone, loosen up, and bring some of that same energy and movement onto the canvas.

This is the beginning of The Valley in Splendour, a new 48” x 36” piece that I’ll be showcasing at ArtWalk in the Square in Toronto, September 18–20. ✨

Golden Hour Windswept Pine captures the sense of movement of a lone pine tree, swaying in the wind against the warmth and stillness of the evening light.

The bold colour and textured strokes bring energy to the landscape, while that quiet golden-hour glow invites you to pause and relax for a moment as you allow your eyes to wander.

This is one of the things I love most about painting Canadian landscapes. There can be so much contrast within them: movement and stillness, vibrant colour and peaceful moments, all existing together.
