Well, after a truly lovely Christmas with family, friends and nice stretches of solitude, I finally got around to using a stripy quilted rectangle that I put together a while ago. I mostly followed the YouTube video by Christine's Home Affairs called "How to sew a cute handbag with multiple zippers & pockets including recessed zipper panel. 3 options" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4M_WQ3IkO3I. If you are interested, she also hosts a Facebook Group facebook.com/groups/1742310746004729. If there is anything you don't like - it is my mistake not hers.
My version ended up 13"x 11.5" by 2" with a single cross-body bag strap, one outside pocket, one split inside pocket and a small clip for keys or other small items. It is definitely big enough to fit a large tablet comfortably. This particular one is a commission but if you are interested in something similar, please reach out and let me know.

I had my first (and possibly second) attempt to scam my new business on Thursday. I suppose it is a milestone, and I could take it as a compliment that my tiny business has received notice but in this case, I would prefer not.

If you are interested in what happened, in case something similar happens to you/someone you know... I had someone reach out through Messenger and wasted a bunch of my time as I figured out the price of shipping an item before Christmas (the answer is that it is a completely staggering amount!) and how I would manage the logistics. After trying to convince me to set up PayPal so they could use that, (cash or e-transfer only) they told me I had my account set up wrong and that their payment had gone through and I needed to download the 'thing' they texted me (instead of the text I should have received from Interac and the deposit automatically happening). Also they said they had already paid me twice what I asked for and wanted me to pay them back the difference because I was so 'trustworthy'.

The second one didn't get past me getting them a quote to ship to the US, so not enough evidence to convict on that one.

This moss-green hat with lace and butterfly trim is probably more a fall or spring one. The fabric is not wool. It is heavy but I don't know what it is made of since it is some of the rescued fabric I received from someone's stash when they were downsizing. It has a very wide brim to keep the sun out of your eyes. It is a take on the reversible summer hat from Sew very Crafty.

I know that most people are now starting to focus on Christmas. But I am enjoying being finished with sewing Christmas stuff for now. So instead, I have sewn a new hat (a commission!) and a sling for my dog walking business to carry a small dog (who does NOT like the cold weather or the salty sidewalks). And I have read 10 books or so. Now that I have caught up on my book addiction, I am ready to tackle more sewing projects.

The 2024 Snowflake Bazaar is over! It was my first craft sale, it made a profit, I learned a lot and I enjoyed it (which makes it a big success in my calculations!)
I made $171 in direct revenue and spent $74 in direct expenses.
(I am going to ignore the purchase of the display items like racks, etc. for this purpose as they will be used in future sales - so I guess that makes those 'capital')
I also made more money from personal sales outside the context of the bazaar that I wouldn't have made if I hadn't already been stocking up on inventory for this one.
Thank you very much to my friend Debbie who shared the table and sold her knitted hats and knitting bling to keep me company and give me moral support.

This tan tweed wool hat with lace trim and bow is partially lined with fleece for comfort. It has a deep crown so that it can be pulled down low over the back of your neck and your ears. It has a medium with brim to keep the sun (we hope) or the rain/snow (we hope not) out of your eyes. It is another version of the winter fashion hat from Mad Cap Hats.

This is a fully fleece-lined winter fashion cap in peacock blue, 100% wool tweed. It is modelled by Helen Johnson and made from a pattern by Mad Cap Hats.

It will be part of the sale at the the Breithaupt Centre's Snowflake Bazaar: Holiday Marketplace on November 23 although I can't get a link to the event to work properly here.
