The funniest thing about this closet is that we did this entire process a year ago. She absolutely loved itโ€ฆ but sheโ€™s a total badass businesswoman who also happens to love to shop.

Fast forward a year, and she called me back and said, โ€œCait, the closet is feeling a little tight again. Time for another big sweep.โ€

So I called my amazing consignment connection, Leah and let her know I was heading back in. I warned her there would be another round of fabulous pieces coming her way.

I absolutely love when two local businesses can work together to get clients the results they want.

One thing I always tell people is that I treat every clientโ€™s home like itโ€™s my own familyโ€™s. Not my easygoing little sister Brooklynโ€™s house. Not my chill sister Amandaโ€™s house. Iโ€™m talking about my older sisterโ€™s house โ€” the internal medicine doctor who expects things done right and only accepts results.

Thatโ€™s the standard every single client gets.

Another closet refreshed, more beautiful pieces headed off to their next home, and one very happy client with room to shop again.

They say we only wear 20% of the clothes in our closet, and honestly, I believe we probably only use 30% of the things in our homes.

Imagine how much lighter life could feel if you freed up your space, your time, and your mental load by making those hard decisions now instead of someday.

Less stuff to manage.
More room to breathe.
More time for living.

One of the questions I get asked the most besides โ€œDo you have availability this week?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚ is what happens to all the donations after I haul them out of your house?

The answer is always the sameโ€ฆ into grateful hands.

Over the years Iโ€™ve built some amazing local connections to make sure items stay out of the landfill and end up where theyโ€™re actually needed.

Larger items usually go to Habitat for Humanity in Kelowna or Gleaners in Vernon. Clothing, toys, and smaller household goods often make their way to MCC Thrift Shop, Salvation Army, and the United Church in Lake Country.

I also try really hard to keep donations within the communities they came from whenever possible. Kelowna helping Kelowna, Lake Country helping Lake Country, Vernon helping Vernon.

One of my favourite connections is an outreach worker who regularly comes by my garage to pick up household items for youth starting over on their own. Those donations always feel extra special.

And the vasesโ€ฆ ohhhh the vases ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’ I pass those along free of charge to a wonderful local lady who owns a flower shop here in Lake Country because I love supporting another hardworking business owner.

We actually have a rule in our house ๐Ÿ˜‚ anything Mom brings home in the donation pile NEVER comes upstairs. It stays in the garage, gets sorted, and then delivered to its new home.

Honestly, one of the best parts of this job is watching people feel lighter letting things go while knowing those same items are about to help somebody else.

Total win-win.

Did this absolutely stunning transformation of a massive pantry on Friday andโ€ฆ met the coolest mom!

One of my favourite parts of this project was visiting with her as I worked. While I emptied and wiped down the pantry (which alone took over an hour because this thing was HUGE ๐Ÿ˜…), she stood at the counters editing items and deciding what still deserved space in her home. Teamwork at its finest.

And once everything was cleared out, I got to do my favourite partโ€ฆ creating zones, making it functional, styling it beautifully, and labelling everything so it actually works long term.

Iโ€™m honestly starting to surprise myself with how quickly I can get these projects done. We finished this pantry with time to spare, then walked through the rest of her home chatting about future projects and ideas.

There really is something so rewarding about helping a busy mom feel lighter, calmer, and more on top of things in her home. And for me, getting completely into that flow state never gets old.

Feeling very grateful lately that this is what I get to call work!

This high powered woman needed a pantry to match, so thatโ€™s exactly what I gave her!

She was already off to a great start with some gorgeous jars that had both the look and functionality I love, so we leaned right into that and built the rest of the space around them.

Sheโ€™s also one of those women who is completely on top of things, so I have no doubt sheโ€™ll be coming home, unpacking groceries right away, and decanting everything into the proper containers to keep the system running beautifully.

Thatโ€™s the thing with pantries like this and highly organized systems in general. I always make sure the setup matches the personality maintaining it. Realistically, decanting means handling your groceries twice and it does take more effort, but wowโ€ฆ the payoff is unreal. It keeps your home functioning flawlessly, makes everything easier to find, reduces visual clutter, and honestly just gives your daily life that elevated feel.

We also swapped out her non existent recycling setup because the last thing I wanted was a stunning pantry with cans and cardboard piled on the floor beside it. I found these amazing recycling bins that fit the space perfectly, have removable washable bags, and genuinely look so good in the room.

Then we created definitive zones, added clear labels, brought in a couple Lazy Susans for both function and aesthetics, and I noticed gold was the accent colour throughout her home so I added that beautiful gold wire coffee container as a little finishing detail when you open the pantry door.

This fabulous business womanโ€™s life has gone through some big changes latelyโ€ฆthe good kind!

Kids getting married, moving out, and a new chapter beginning where she finally has more time for herself and the freedom to set her home up for the life she has now.

In just two sessions, we completely edited her wardrobe, refreshed her spice cabinet, coffee station, and supplement area, transformed her storage room to the point it no longer even needed storage racks, and tackled two additional closets along the way.

One of my favourite transformations was this closet. It went from holding leftover wedding decor from her sonโ€™s wedding to becoming a totally chic travel closet where everything she needs for her next adventure is easy to grab, pack, and go.

This truly means the world to me almost 3 years ago I started Clear The Chaos with a simple idea: help people live more and manage stuff less. I wanted to build a business that actually made peopleโ€™s day to day lives easier. Less overwhelm, less stress, more function, more peace and homes that finally work for the people living in them.

This project was a fun one. ๐Ÿ˜† This busy mom has a very large home and the storage room had slowly turned into the catch all zone for kids costumes, Christmas decor, baby clothes to consign, and some super cool vintage Fisher-Price toys being saved for future grandkids.

Before we started, I told her my goal was simple: you should be able to stand at the doorway and instantly know whatโ€™s on every shelf just by the zones and labels. And thatโ€™s exactly what we created.

In just HALF of her 4 hour session we completely reset the space and still had time left to tackle the adjacent toy room where toys had slowly started migrating over time. Now both areas feel functional, easy to maintain, and way less overwhelming.

People always think projects like this will take forever but once you get going with the right systems and someone who has personally organized over 250+ homes, the transformation happens fast.
