J ai pleuré ma vie pendant le film!
"I created Stitch when I myself felt like a failed experiment. " 🌀💔
I was an animator at Disney, but I felt invisible.
Great ideas come from others... or so they believed. I was left with smaller jobs, as if I wasn't good enough. Back then, my days were grey. I had been working for years, but I didn't see results. One day, after another meeting where my voice was ignored, l grabbed a pencil and drew something no one had asked me to: a little alien with a naughty face and a broken soul. ✏️👾
That drawing was me. Stitch was a reflection of me: misunderstood, rejected, but with an enormous desire to belong. Took him to the studio almost scared, hoping they would file it like everything else. But this time... they heard it. They liked it. And I was given the opportunity to direct Lilo & Stitch. But it wasn't easy. Many told me it was crazy to mix sci-fi with family drama. They almost cancel everything.😤📉
My crew was small On a budget, tapped. But the passion was huge. Every scene had something of me: the pain of being ignored, the struggle not to give up, the longing to be accepted. When the movie premiered, I saw people crying in the rooms. People who were reflected in a blue alien. It was there when I understood that the strangest stories.. sometimes they are the most human. 🎥💙
"We all felt Stitch at some point: broken, out of place, different. But with the right love... even the misunderstood can become a legend. "
