Small Decisions

I really wanted this space to feel beautiful — not just “nice" and not like an office, but a place that quietly inspires you the moment you walk in.

This part was intense… painting, adding lights, moving things around, rethinking every corner. So many little details, so many decisions to make.

But I wasn’t doing it alone. My family, friends, and even the support and encouragement from my students — it all carried me through this stage.

It was still nerve-wracking at times, but somehow it felt lighter knowing how many people were behind it.

This summer at our new studio in Markham — Summer Sewing & Fashion Design Camp is back ✂️🧵
📅 Multiple weeks in July & August
⏰ 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
💲 Early Bird $450/week (ends May 1st )
💲 Regular $550/week
Ages 7–14 | Beginners & experienced welcome

This is not a typical group camp.
We keep groups very small and plan individual projects for each child — based on their level and interests.

It feels fun and light for them… but it’s also 6 hours a day of real creating:
sketching, cutting, sewing, working with different fabrics and techniques.

Beyond sewing, it builds focus, confidence, and a different way of thinking — understanding how things are constructed, how materials work, real 3D vision.

Because of this approach, we’re unfortunately not able to add extra spots later —
each child needs their own space, machine, materials, and attention.
So spots are truly limited, and we always feel it when we can’t fit everyone in 🤍

📍 August — more spots available
⚠️ July — limited spots left
If you’ve been thinking about it, now is the time.

So many fun prints, but Snoopy is definitely my favourite.
This Saturday is already fully booked (thank you!!),
but we’d love to see you at our June intro workshop 💛

We’re quietly getting ready for a very special workshop… not sharing all the details just yet 🤍
Pulled out all our little treasures — beads, threads, ribbons, tiny pieces of lace — and honestly, it’s such a joy just to go through them.
There’s something so simple and beautiful in it… maybe a little girly, maybe not — but definitely calming, tactile, and a bit magical.
Can’t wait to show you more soon

Big Decision

I started to feel like we were slowly outgrowing our old space… and honestly, it took me a while to admit that to myself.

It felt safe, familiar, cozy — and taking the next step was scary. But at the same time, it really felt like the right moment.

When we found this new place, it was divided into a bunch of small rooms with minimal lighting. And I kept imagining something else — more open, more bright, more connected, where you can actually see everyone creating, learning, helping and being inspired by each other.

So… we took a deep breath and started taking everything apart.

Toronto and Markham! This summer — we’re opening our Summer Sewing & Fashion Design Camp again ✂️🧵
A week where kids don’t just “try sewing”…
they design, create, and bring their ideas to life.
Perfect for both complete beginners and kids who already have some sewing experience.
Ages 7–14.
In just 5 days, many go from their first stitches → to real projects:
bags, plush toys, skirts, and even first outfits.
What always surprises me (every single time):
they experience it as fun, light, exciting…
but in reality — they spend 6 hours a day sketching, cutting, sewing, embroidering.
Learning fast. Working with different fabrics. Building real skills.
And yet — they don’t want to stop.
Lunch breaks rarely last more than 15 minutes… they just want to get back to their machines.
That moment at the end of the week — when they hold something they designed and made themselves…
you have to see their eyes. 🤍
For us, it’s an intense week — a lot of individual guidance, a lot of attention to each child, each idea, each level.
But it’s also the most rewarding thing we do.
We’re already preparing:
new patterns, new projects, new fabrics (running all over Toronto for those 😊)
📍 New studio: 70 Gibson Drive, Unit 4A, Markham
📅 Multiple weeks in July & August
⏰ 9:30 am – 3:30 pm (before & after care available)
💲 $550/week (Early Bird $450 until May 1)
Spots are limited — we keep groups small to support each child properly

We’d love to have your kids join us this summer 🤍

I saw this fabric and immediately thought: coat.
Not just any coat — the kind that walks into the room before you do.
Then the doubts kicked in.
Because pieces like this… well, they require a certain presence.
Otherwise it’s not you wearing the coat — it’s the coat wearing you.
There’s exactly one person I know who can pull that off: my husband.
(He wears drama like it’s a basic.)
He saw the fabric — zero hesitation. “Yes.”
I still wasn’t fully convinced.
Fast forward: 5 hours before his birthday dinner, guests on the way.
And I’m like, okay… now or never.
So I start cutting, sewing… and suddenly everything goes suspiciously well.
The pattern fits. The sleeve fits. Everything fits.
I try it on mid-process (as always)…
and realize I want one too.
And yes… the scale of the person and the ambition of the fabric kind of have to match.
And yes, I didn’t get it wrong.
They found each other — the coat and the person.
It’s very, very him.

Some garments look simple — but are actually beautifully engineered.
This top is inspired by a pattern from a Japanese fashion magazine. I love Japanese design for this balance: minimal details, but carefully considered proportions and silhouettes.
The construction is surprisingly simple — just two pattern pieces.
The front and the back are identical in volume. The only difference is the neckline: one side has a V-neck, the other a round neckline, so the top can be worn either way.
My favorite version is the round neckline in front and the deeper V-neck in the back — elegant, feminine, and beautifully light in silhouette.
This one is made in a soft knit, which makes it incredibly comfortable. Knits have their own little tricks when sewing, but once you learn them, a whole new world of easy, wearable garments opens

Getting ready for March Break ✂️
For our students who’ve already been learning with us, this week will be all about more advanced projects — graduation dresses in progress.
We’re preparing patterns and materials, discussing ideas in advance, so we don’t waste a single hour of our productive week together.
Sketches, fabrics, silhouettes… such a beautiful process. 💛

What to Expect at Your First Sewing Camp

Students walk in on Monday never having touched a sewing machine before. By Friday, they’ve learned how to use the machine safely, understand the basics of how things are constructed, and go home with a bunch of handmade projects they’re genuinely proud of. We focus on making real things from the very beginning, so they’re learning skills while having fun and being creative.

So, what does our March Break Camp look like for first time students?

We begin with sewing machine basics and safety.

Then build skills step by step through foundational projects instead of boring drills:

• Pillow

• Personalised plushie

• Tote bag

These create the base.

As experience and confidence grows, students move on to:

• Simple skirts

• Beginner pants

• Easy dresses

• Cool bags

• More complex toys

By Friday, they don’t just finish projects - they understand how garments are made and how ideas become real pieces.

At the same time, our returning students will be working nearby on advanced projects - including beautiful graduation dresses. It’s always inspiring to see what’s possible next.

🏫 This March Break also opens the doors to our brand new, expanded studio space — just steps from our current Warden & Steeles location in Markham.

🗓 March 16–20

⏰️ 9:30 am – 3:30 pm (extended hours available)

💲 $450 + HST per week or $100 + HST per day

👧 Ages 7+

👭 Small group format

Spots are limited and fill quickly. Priority is given to students attending full-week.

Registration is open on our website.
