Our Mission

Considering my own health as well as the health of this planet - I have made it my mission to light up your life in the safest and most sustainable way possible, by creating the cleanest, most eco-conscious line of candles and at a cost that is affordable for anyone to enjoy.

The discovery of paraffin wax candles releasing toxic benzene and toluene chemicals (both of which are known carcinogens) into the air isn't a light one.

I burn A LOT of candles in my home, but after discovering how these toxins can effect my health, I gathered every single candle I owned and wanted to throw them all away...

Well, you know as well as I do, candles aren't cheap! And after even more research I found out that Soy wax candles are even less cheap. Not only are they expensive, they can apparently claim to be "soy wax candles" with as little as only 25% soy wax used!

There has to be a better option...

I jumped right into it and began my journey by scraping all of the gross (even though they still smelled amazing...) paraffin wax out of their candle containers, plucked out the old wick tabs, and began recycling these containers into brand new NATURAL candles with my first pound of 100% all-natural soy wax!

It’s what’s inside that counts, right? :)

To fragrance this first batch of candles, I used a fragrance oil purchased at a local craft store. It smelled great once it cured, but when I burned the my candle, I couldn't smell a thing.... After more research I found some home recipes for "essential oil blends". This led me to researching what the difference was between using essential oils or a fragrance oil - which is what I had just used. This is what I found...

Does synthetically made chemical scents sound very natural to you?! Me neither.

So I started experimenting with these essential oil recipes, using oils I already had on hand. Using only these 100% Pure essential oils, I created my first batch of Aromatherapy candles -Peppermint & Eucalyptus! The results were INCREDIBLE. I couldn't believe all this time I had been wasting my time re-filling, cleaning, counting drops and restarting a water diffuser, when I could've just lit a candle!

Now, not only does Soy Savvy Canada guarantee the cleanest, most natural burning wax, scents and wicks - We are completely eco-friendly, using recycled and and all Canadian sourced materials!
