Another Day, Another Slay

05/22/2026

The truth? I painted the shelves of my coffee bar before I even knew for sure I’d be allowed to serve coffee.

I decided that if I wanted it, I would find a way to make it happen.

I asked permission to paint the shelves first, then got confirmation days later that I could start serving coffee. Being an established vendor at the market and having built trust with the coordinator definitely helped, but it all started with a vision. I saw the space, I saw its potential, I saw the need for coffee on weekdays in the market and decided to solve that problem myself.

And yes, this scared me.

This all came together at a time when money wasn’t flowing the way I needed it to. I don’t have savings to fund this. Every shelf, sign, supply, and piece of equipment has gone on credit. Debt scares me. I’ve never carried this much debt before, and it feels like every time I turn around there’s another expense.

But sales are coming in.

People are starting to recognize that I’m there. They’re finding through social media, then showing up in person. Today I met a few people who came by just to meet me and one person who saw one of my posts and ended up coming to the market for lunch without even realizing that’s where I was located.

Sometimes the biggest opportunities show up right alongside your biggest fears. If I’d waited until I felt completely ready, Market Drip wouldn’t exist. Growth rarely happens when everything feels safe. Sometimes you have to trust your vision, take the risk, and build it before you can fully see where it’s going.

Alex from Brix Café stopped by today to show his support and gifted me some fun coffees to try ☕️✨

This one is from Coffee Company, a Colombian coffee co-fermented with peach & vanilla, and oh my goodness… the smell alone is incredible. Sweet, fruity, smooth, and somehow even better once brewed into a pour over 🤍

Day one at Market Drip ☕️
Started the day with a supportive friend, gave out 10 little samples and ended the day with my first sales, my first returning smiles, and proof that this dream exists outside my head now.

4 coffees served.
2 stickers sold.
1 tote bag went home with someone.

Tiny beginning, big feelings. 🤍

Hi, I’m Candace, the artist and coffee lover behind Market Drip, a tiny coffee bar inside Marché Moncton serving slow brewed black coffee, one cup at a time. I’ll be testing which weekdays I’ll be here, it will be open 10am-4pm. For now, check our social pages to check when we’re in!

What started as a love for coffee, art, and creating beautiful little moments has turned into this cozy space where pour over coffee meets handmade creativity. Every detail, right down to this hand embroidered sign, was made with intention.

At Market Drip you’ll find:
☕️ pour over coffee
☕️ coffee by
🎨 art + handmade goods
🍓 a soft, playful market vibe

This is just the beginning and I’m so excited to share it with you.

See you at the market ♡
