It’s time for another ODF sneak peek! 👀

Cottagecore cuteness meets equestrian practicality in my new crochet stirrup covers, coming soon to my booth at the Ottawa Dressage Festival ☺️

Each set, crocheted from a mesh stitch for breathability, will include a pair of drawstring covers, made with a soft cotton yarn to protect the leather of your saddle from the metal of your stirrups.

Love love love these palomino cuties 😄

It’s really funny how, when I first started offering custom crochet horses to the public at the start of 2025, I didn’t think that I would be able to find a colour that would work for palomino. Turns out, if you change the mane colour around, the colours that work for buckskin/dun also work for palomino! I’ve got some super fun horses on the docket this month, and I can’t wait to share photos once I’m able.

Custom orders are still closed, and as I shared the other day when I made my announcement that I’m going to be a vendor at the Ottawa Dressage Festival, I will be taking April off from custom orders to rest my hands and to have time to prep stock for my “horse show markets” this summer.

I’ve had some inquiries recently about when my orders will be open again, so thought it would be helpful to make a post about it ☺️ once they’re open again, y’all will be the first to know!

A super fun order I made recently - my first roan! Bay and gray mix, had to play around with some new techniques to figure it out but I’m super happy with the result! ☺️ I ended up double-stranding a light gray yarn with some brown crochet thread and it worked perfectly.

Perfect timing too, because I’m currently working on my second roan ever 👌

📣 EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

Hoof and Hook may be coming to a horse show near you (in Ottawa) this summer! I’ve wanted to expand my product offerings for awhile, so a few months ago I put a call out looking for local horse show venues that may be interested in having a Hoof and Hook vendor table at their events this summer. The response was incredible 🥹

I’m still in the process of lining up my schedule for the summer, striking a balance between these events and my own competitions with Merlin, training, and having a life, but I am thrilled to announce that I’m kicking it off with a bang and am an official vendor for the 2026 Ottawa Dressage Festival! I’ll have a booth on the grounds for the majority of the show, and am currently hard at work designing and making a whole slew of beautiful crochet items for the horse and rider. These items will include:

⭐️ beautiful crochet hairnet/scrunchie combos to keep your hair looking beautiful and stylish in the show ring
⭐️ unique fly bonnets
⭐️ washable crochet stirrup covers and browband covers
⭐️ horsey-themed baby blankets and loveys
⭐️ a menagerie of pre-made stuffies along the lines of what I’m known for
⭐️ a slew of beautiful and practical handmade items for the barn and home, inspired by barns, kitchens, and quiet country days
⭐️ …and countless other items that I am still in the process of planning and making.

Needless to say, I am incredibly excited about this new venture and need time to build up inventory. As such, I will be taking April off from custom stuffies, focusing exclusively on market prep for the ODF and other events this summer. Custom orders should resume in May, bigger and better than ever before 😍

(This goes without saying that all stuffy orders confirmed for March will be completed. I’m just taking April off!)

And, if you’re a competitor at the ODF in May, you may stand a chance at winning a custom H&H stuffy of your own!

This dog was super fun to make. Into my February orders now, where I get to make yet another pup!

Orders for custom plushies are still closed, but will open again in about a month. Stay tuned! In the meantime, I still have room for a Valentine’s horse hat or two.

BRB, smiling at how ADORABLE the mini Valentine’s hat is 😭💌💝

This is a last call out for anyone wanting an H&H Valentine’s horse hat. With the holiday coming up in two weeks, I’m putting aside some time next week to make some more if there’s any interest. After that. they won’t be available again until next year.

🏷️: $40 for mini and pony sized, $45 for cob sized, and $50 for full and XL (warmblood/draft)
