Not every project is a major renovation and that’s okay. At Maple Cove Interiors, we want to help create thoughtful, functional spaces at every budget. This project was only a consult for a client who had recently moved into their own place and wanted the space to feel more cohesive. By working with what they already had we were able to give the space a more polished feel with just a few small changes.

Weekly Thoughtful Post

I want to share a recent dollar store trip that stayed with me.

The dollar store has become my “safe” place to treat myself. I used to struggle with overspending, and this became my way of still enjoying shopping without going overboard. (If you want to hear more about how I worked through my shopping addiction, let me know in the comments.)

Yesterday, I was grabbing supplies for some upcoming events and had a pretty full basket, the kind where you dramatically unload a whole tote bag onto the checkout counter.

Behind me was a little girl with her dad, and she was shocked at how much stuff I had. I overheard her dad say,
“It’s because she’s rich. Maybe one day when you have your own money, you can shop like that too.”

And honestly, that hit me.

It reminded me how easy it is to forget the little things we’re fortunate to enjoy.

It also made me happy to think that maybe this little girl saw possibility in that moment. Maybe one day she’ll be doing her own *responsible* shopping haul and remember me doing the same.
