A warning to online sellers, particularly card vendors, regarding a scammer operating under the profile "Sandra Smith" from Montreal, Quebec.
The scam begins with a Facebook Messenger inquiry expressing interest in purchasing an item, followed by a claim that the e-transfer is unsuccessful due to the absence of a merchant account. The scammer then sends an email, allegedly from the bank, requesting a $500 payment to secure merchant status. This is an obvious scam. Upon confrontation, the profile was removed from Facebook Messenger.
