Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how we show up for our kids when the feelings are big… and how often we’re feeling them too.

These new matching hats felt really special to create. They say “Big Emotions” and they’re for both you and your little one, because this isn’t just something we teach, it’s something we move through together.

Some days it looks like deep breaths and calm voices, and some days it’s just getting through it side by side.

We’ve been creating a little “emotions corner” in our home 🌿

Not a timeout space.
Not a punishment.
Just a soft place to land.

A few simple tools to help calm busy bodies and big feelings, like books, sensory items, breathing prompts, and a cozy cushion.

Toddlers aren’t “too much.”
They’re just learning how to feel.

When we give them space to pause, regulate, and reset, we’re teaching something so much bigger than behaviour; we’re teaching emotional safety and self-awareness. 🤎

Little by little, they learn:
“I can calm my body.”
“I can move through this.”
“I am safe with my feelings.”

And that’s powerful.

Lately we’ve been using a simple magnetic board to map out our days 🌿

Toddlers thrive on knowing what’s coming next. When the day feels predictable, transitions feel softer… and everyone breathes a little easier.

I’ve noticed that when my son gets to move the magnets himself... choosing, checking off, rearranging... he isn’t just following a routine. He’s participating in it.

It’s such a small shift, but it builds autonomy, confidence, and that sweet sense of “I can do this.” 🤎

Helping little ones navigate their day doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just giving them the tools to see it.
