A little October post for my girl who has always loved bones. 🦴🧵

Her fascination with the human body actually started when she was three and got a buckle fracture in her wrist. Instead of being scared of it, she became completely fascinated by what was happening underneath her skin.

She’s 10 now, and all these years later she still loves bones and learning about human anatomy. So of course, I had to stitch something for her. 🤍

I love creating pieces that capture the little things that make someone them.

October 1st feels like the perfect time to share these little stitched leaves. 🍂🧵

I love experimenting with embroidery beyond the traditional hoop, and stitching directly onto fallen leaves was such a fun way to combine two things I love: creating and finding inspiration in nature.

They’re delicate, imperfect, and definitely not meant to last forever, which I think is part of what makes them so special. 🤎

There’s something so special about stitching all those tiny details from the day a little one entered the world. A name, a date, a time, all turned into something that can be kept long after those newborn days have passed.

I’ve always loved creating pieces that are personal to the people who will cherish them. 🤍

A little piece inspired by the outdoors. 🌾🧵

Sometimes I love keeping things simple. Just three little stitched stalks, a favourite colour, and a beautiful backdrop.

There’s something about embroidery and being outside that just seems to belong together. 💛

If I think back to all the custom hoops I’ve created, I think this one might be my favourite. 🧵💙

I made this for my friends’ wedding, and I wanted to capture the West Coast feeling of where they got married, along with the fact that their wedding day was a very wet one. 🌧️🌲

This hoop took me hours upon hours to create. Every stitch was intentional, from the trees and shoreline to the rain falling over the water. I really wanted it to feel like their day and their place.

This piece also inspired me to dream a little bigger and create a large embroidered canvas. That idea has been sitting in my head and slowly formulating for the past few years… and I still really want to make it happen.

Maybe someday when I’m not quite so busy with work and motherhood. 🤍

But for now, I’ll keep stitching the little pieces that make their way out into the world.

A little throwback to 2022! 🧵🍎

In the busyness of life, I completely forgot about teacher gifts one year… so I quickly stitched these up! 😂

I remember asking my daughter to ask her teachers what their favourite colours were so I could make each hoop a little more personal to them. I love that even though these were made in a bit of a rush, they still had that personal touch. 💛

Sometimes the best handmade gifts are the ones that come together at the last minute!
