The process.

Working backwards, these photos show this goat skull today, last October, and last March.

I received this incredible skull from a lovely friend who raises her goats with love. They live long, beautiful lives. When their time to go eventually comes, I am always honoured to receive these heads. Some of my favourite pieces have been made on glorious skulls from Angela.

When I received it last March, it then spent seven months in a dog crate in the woods, letting bugs and critters snack on it. It then came home and spent the winter in the elements in my backyard.

Now, it is finally ready to begin the degreasing process. Goats can take a long, long time as they are extremely greasy. I will be using on this one and am excited to see how much this product, and the warm weather, can speed up the process.

This skull already has an intended home. I'm just honoured to be preparing it.

Oh happy day. The sun and the heat are finally here. For the first time this year, I'm in my yard filling up my bone buckets.

I have a LOT to process and degrease this season. Here's hoping for warmer nights than we had last year, those made for such slow progress.

Shelves! These roe deer skull shelves have long been the most popular item in my shop. Many of you asked about them at the Oddities & Curiosities Expo over the weekend, but try as I might I couldn't make enough to sell one to everyone who wanted one.

I am very happy to take orders for them though. I should have my hands on some skulls soon, and once I do it's about a two week turnaround until your shelf is in your hands.

All shelves hang from a steel hoop and are strung with cotton string. The boards can be poplar or pine and are offered in natural wood, walnut stain, grey stain, or espresso. I most often do these in black or natural string but am happy to discuss other colours too.

Reach out via DM if you'd like to discuss a shelf of your own 🥰

My next event should be incredibly fun. I'm happy to announce that I will be vending here in my own town on July 1 at the Bike Night! This event is happening on a few nights this summer but I will be vending ONLY on July 1.

I will be working hard to restock all of my dark & dreamy macrame decor and will also be bringing tons of beautifully decorated skulls and bones.

Come on out, this one should be a blast

Wow! Once again, the was absolutely incredible! I am so honoured to be a part of such an amazing group of weird and wonderful artists and makers. And for the very first time, my kiddo was by my side which was just so cool.

I'll now be working hard to create more pieces as I don't have much left! Wow!!!

A little out of my usual dark decor, but hey. It can't rain all the time.

This one-of-a-kind macrame wall hanging hangs from two huge cow jawbones and features a lovely little bouquet of dried florals.

Can't you just picture this beauty as a centrepiece in your living room or a gorgeous statement in your bedroom?

This piece is available, and will be coming with me this weekend to the in Toronto.

Badass and beautiful. Hey, just like me 😉

This roe deer skull has been beautifully decorated with cosmos flowers from my own garden. The accents have been hand painted in gold and a shimmery rose-gold.

This piece is currently available and will be coming with me this weekend to the in Toronto!

Told you I had a completely one-of-a-kind shelf coming for you 🥰

This is the first impala skull I've ever had the pleasure to work with. I certainly hope to get more in future because damn. This thing rules.

The skull hangs from a steel hoop and is strung with cotton string. The boards are pine with a faded grey stain.

This piece is available, and if still available next weekend it will be coming with me to the happening in Toronto!

Buckle up pals, this will be a long post.

It's no secret, especially to those who view my stories, that it's been a tough couple of years at home. Back in the fall of 2023 I had hoped to start turning my art into more of a full-time thing, but then things started crumbling around me and I found myself barely able to create. I've spent the last two years doing my best to stay relevant in this lovely little community of witches, weirdos and art lovers. But more times than not, I had to force myself to create, rather than enjoy it and feel the creations flow out of me.

But things are changing. I am changing. My art is changing. And I am so, so here for it.

Last night I finally finished this piece, one that I was commissioned to make longer ago than I'd like to admit. I am so very grateful for the patience of my client, who assured me it was ok to take my time.

Rather than stress about it, like I usually do, I gave myself time to rest. To breathe. To sleep. To recentre and refocus.

And last night I finally felt the return of my love for this darkly dreamy art.

This piece is so fitting to me as a return, because it's a loose remaking of one of my favourite pieces from years ago (the pink and white one a few posts back). Back then, I was so inspired. I worked constantly, and loved it. I could see my love for it in the pieces I made.

And I see that love here again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Thanks for sticking around my friends. I can't wait to show you what I'll create this year.
