Harper the Humpback

‘Harper says trade your land lobber legs for sea legs and come say hi to her and her friends on the waters of Newfoundland. It’s whale season! Hop on a tour boat, hit up a trail along the coast or a rocky beach and see them yourselves! It doesn’t last long, get em before they’re gone!

It’s been an entire year since we opened our debut solo exhibition ‘Oceanic Flight’ at the Quidi Vidi Village Artisan Studios.

We can’t believe where we have gone in just a year. This exhibition was our launching pad for great growth in our craft and it’s amazing to look back on how we got there and how we got to where we are just one year later.

We know what our next exhibition will be, we are just working to find the time to get to work on it.

Glacial Gargantuan

18” x 12” x 8” - Eastern White Pine

‘These Greenland giants grace our shores every spring and yet we hardly see them for all their beauty; we’re left to imagine what might be below the surface, stretching to the depths of the North Atlantic Ocean.

Our latest take on these frozen beauties is our all time favourite. I always say icebergs are the best thing to carve as you can’t make a mistake, anything goes! And I think we nailed it this time.

Making Waves

‘There’s a lot of things you can do to make your presence known; humpbacks prefer to propel their 40 ton bodies into the air, splashing down into the ocean with the sound of a shotgun and a spray that’s visible for over a mile. Can you blame them?’

Our latest sculpture is hand carved and captures the true power of a humpback whale as it breaches out of the ocean on rough seas.

Our GRAND OPENING is this Saturday, June 13th in our brand new Artisan Studio and Wood Carving Gallery located at 172 Water Street, St. John’s.

We will be providing some eats, snacks and drinks while quantities last. Charcuterie cups, chocolates and cookies made locally, plus water and pop.

All day long you will receive a 15% discount on items priced $200 or less.

The first 5 paying customers will receive free swag in the form of brand new hats made by Crooked Arse Creations
