New door signage for ! Their stunning space has such lovely lighting and light wood tones. I’ve only seen the pictures but it really looks like a space you want to be and what better way to figure it where to go than door signs? 🤣❤️ These will be adhered to each door marking the room and maybe they will even switch them around on April Fools for a little fun. Or maybe I’m just making stuff up that I would do 🤫😜 How much do you love that I took this picture in no particular order? I rage baited myself 🤣 My wife had just informed me that our dryer decided to no longer rotate so I quickly set these down to send a picture to the client and investigate. But really, no excuses, I aligned them and thought “yup, looks straight!”, removed the shop dust with a handy dandy dry paint brush as always and ta da, here’s your photo 📸 Imagine if the business arranged the rooms out of order like this. I probably wouldn’t be able to come back 🤣

When your client shows you their logo and you find out it’s a shade of yellow or orange…my arch nemesis 🤣 These colours are legitimately the worst. Often requiring 3 or more coats and if it’s a time consuming design, you just have to take more sanity breaks. This reel was recorded as a timelapse and then sped up more. The first coat of 3 is the slowest, making sure the art matches the logo, the next two go a bit quicker but as soon as you get confident, you get humbled…a forearm smear, a drip, an out of the lines colouring moment….Juat so you know, there are three of these signs. THREE. Each with three base coats (primer + 2 navy) then 3 yellow coats (or plantain chips like dubbed 🤣❤️…I love paint names but I digress). The point is, I painted that design 9 times. NINE. It wasn’t even today and I’m still recovering 🤣 Big reveal on hold because that’s more fun but enjoy my posture and patience before they are gone 😜

Any tips on holding a paint can for an extended period of time? That wire definitely digs and creates a nice hand crease.

Just screwing around here at the shop. Round and round and round! These three blue beauties will make it to their new home this week once the logo is painted. My table saw had to double as an actual table in addition to my trash can. Limited space means you have to be a bit creative! The trash can is actually a reused metal container that previously held metal chain. If you’ve ever seen horror stories of shops going up in flames, it’s sometimes because rags can self ignite. This spontaneous combustion can happen when a finish you’ve been working with is balled up in a rag/towel/etc and oxidizes. It can be from linseed oil and even some stains and other products used in your shop. That’s why I love this metal can and lid, I feel like it not only limits the oxygen available but it also would be pretty self containing if this were to ever occur. I only bring this up because I can’t tell you how many times I was looking for my trash can this past week and realized it was under the sign. Like I forgot way too many times 🥴 It felt naughty not putting my rags in the can ha! We also have a smoke detector that’s on our wifi which is pretty cool. Since the shop is detached, we wouldn’t know if there was a fire until it’s too late. This wifi smoke detector notifies my phone if it detects anything. It also does a monthly self check and gives me updates so I know it’s working. Sometimes technology makes you feel safe. Other times it is a metal trash bin 🤣❤️ And yes, I overthink everything…a blessing and a curse. Happy Monday!

How fun is this one?! No more nights of trying to sneak under your kid’s pillow to seek their tooth in exchange for a loonie, just show up at their door and make a much easier exchange. My kids are beyond the days where this is fathomable but during the tooth fairy times, it was a real struggle. Many times I never even found the tooth (if I even remembered to be the magic), just shoved a coin under their pillow after an unsuccessful hunt in the darkness and suggested the tooth fairy must have had a full bag that night 🦷 🎒 . It’s almost like an egg hunt for adults because your kid tornado swirled around in bed displacing the perfectly placed tooth you helped arrange and now you’re the burglar, route planned across the room to avoid the obvious creaks, breath held as you get close to the Whirling Dervish with no plan in place if you get caught. “Oh uh, I just was excited to see if the tooth fairy already arrived 🥴. Nope, sorry to wake you.” Heart rate slightly elevated like you may have spoiled the entire magic of childhood all for a tooth, an honestly kind of creepy tradition. If you’re a parent that keeps your kids’ teeth, no judgement I just can’t, it gives me the ick. I know, I know, you watched some creepy documentary as a kid that led you to believe you need the DNA. Well I have three girls that will all be teenagers by the end of the summer and we have enough hair shed daily to make dolls, so plenty of DNA to go around 🤣 If I find a container of my teeth in my Mom’s house, I won’t be thinking “oh cute”, I’ll be tossing that in the garbage. You should have seen the photo edits of this one when I suggested “tooth fairy vibes” to PhotoRoom. Most were glitter and fairy confetti but some looked like a scene out of some unwritten dental horror flick. So anyway, parents of young kiddos, you can save yourself the drama with this door hanger, if you choose 🤣 This one is Velcro so each of the kids’ names is detachable (with Velcro on the back to store the extra names). $25 for one name or $30 for multiple. I made one extra that’s available almost immediately (obviously you have to pick the colour and let me know the name go cut ✂️).

Hope everyone had a beautiful long weekend, caught some sun and some bug bites…it’s all about balance right? ☀️ 🦟 🤣

Sending good vibes into the universe for this couple and their quickly approaching big day. It’s my favourite season, filled with hot days, family time, vacation, water, friends, Iove…summer really is the best ❤️
