This one just feels happy, doesn’t it? 🥰

A hummingbird caught mid-flight, wings stretched wide, like it paused for a second just for you to take it in. The metallic paints shift between teal, aqua, and soft purple depending on the light, giving it that real hummingbird shimmer—almost like it’s moving even when it’s still. Every little dot and swirl is hand-painted, building up those flowing patterns that make the whole piece feel alive and full of energy.

Hummingbirds are such special little creatures. They’re all about joy, resilience, and appreciating the moment. Even though they’re tiny, they travel incredible distances, which always feels like a reminder that strength doesn’t have to be loud. They also symbolize hope and lightness—that idea of finding sweetness in life and not getting weighed down by everything. Such an important message in these challenging times.

Things have been a little dark and heavy here in region with all the fires and smoke. I needed to channel some positive energy and brightness so I retreated to my studio and painted a few new pieces including this sweet butterfly. I’ll be donating a portion of my sales for the rest of the month to the evacuees in town by purchasing much-needed grocery gift cards.
