A little throwback to where it all started. 🤍
We talk about Lakeshore a lot, but sometimes forget about this little gem—the original JT & Co. Interiors studio in Milton.
This was one of the first spaces where we brought the vision to life, and looking back, so many of the details that became part of our signature style started right here.
From the Macchia Vecchia marble and custom millwork to the sculptural lighting and layered textures, every inch was designed with intention.
Funny how a little space can hold such a big chapter.
Forever grateful for where we started—and excited for everywhere we're going next. ✨

**Design 101 would probably tell us not to do this… but our littlest client had other plans. 🤍**

This lovely girl had one very specific request for her new bedroom:

Push the bed against **two walls**
and box her in with the desk…

because obviously, we needed to **keep the monsters out.** 🥹

Would we normally design a bedroom layout this way? Probably not.

But good interior design isn’t just about following rules.

It’s about understanding the person who actually lives in the space.

So we followed her lead and created a little corner that feels safe, cozy and completely hers — while still making the room functional with a desk, storage and plenty of room for all her favourite things.

Sometimes the best design decision is the one that makes your client happiest.

Even when your client is very small and highly concerned about monsters. 🤍

Would you have broken the design rules for this request?

Friday recap ✨ Somehow another week has flown by. Lots of projects moving, details coming together, and exciting things taking shape behind the scenes.

Hook: It’s all in the details. ✨

Project Applewood is a study in understated drama—layered lighting, soft limewash, sculptural fluting, and a dark, moody leathered granite that brings depth and character to the space. Every detail was chosen to create warmth, texture, and a little bit of intrigue.

A look inside this beautiful custom living room by Refine Custom Homes . We love how every finish works together to create a space that feels warm, elevated, and completely cohesive.
The contrast of the dark cabinetry against the medium-toned wood floors adds depth without making the room feel heavy, while the plaster walls bring in that soft, organic texture. And the rounded arched nooks? Such a beautiful architectural detail that keeps the entire space feeling custom and considered.
It’s proof that when the materials, tones, and architectural details all speak the same language, the finished space just works.

**Why a 10” backsplash? Because the faucet changed everything.**

At Project Kean Hill, the wall-mounted faucets meant a standard backsplash height just wasn’t going to cut it. We extended the stone to 10” to properly frame the plumbing, protect the wall, and make the whole detail feel intentional — not like an afterthought.

It’s these small design decisions that make a custom home feel truly considered.
