NATURAL • STYLE//
Sharing this gorgeous space with you today!!! I have to highlight the light wood tones in the kitchen, and how modern it looks with black hardware; It makes such a modern statement. I love how the earthy orange and green tones really ground the space to create a calming vibe. The hardwood floors closely match the cabinetry, which isn’t a typical choice homeowners make, but when it’s done right, it’s gorgeous.

Let me start by saying than you to all who continue to follow and support this business and account; I don’t say this enough. It makes me happy knowing that I can take a break from social media, and your still here. I love sharing with you all, which is what keeps me coming back!

Okay, here’s the tip: DON’T OVERDUE IT! You don’t want to “throw up” one style in your space. Mixed it up a bit with unexpected touches in a different style.

BIRTHDAY GRATITUDE//

Today I’m 40; a year I have dreaded for a while is here. I remember when I turned 30, and someone said to me “it’s better to be 30 than to never live to see 30.” She was right. I lost a close friend to covid in 2020; he was 39. He never lived to see his 40th birthday. So today, I pulled myself together and reminded myself that it’s a blessing to be 40, and I should only feel so lucky to be 40, because the alternative is not an option for me. I remember my mom tuning 40; I was 13. She looked amazing and still does. 40 felt so far away, and it was. But it’s here now, and time seems to be flying by a lot faster now😭

A good friend once said to me in 2016, “Girl, it’s great to be 40, and you know why? Because you don’t give a flying f**k what people think. You can be you, unapologetically. You stop caring about people’s approval, and you don’t accept people in your life who don’t deserve you.” Well, I’m here and ready for my 40 perks. If this is 40, then bring it on🥂.

Thank you to all of you who made this day special; for your calls, texts, and time. And especially to my hubby for spoiling me this weekend! Love you forever. I’m one lucky girl to be married to my bestie.💕

An interior mistake that gets me every time is incorrect placement of art and mirrors. People commonly hang pieces too high when they should really be hung at eye level (which works out to be about 57 to 65 inches off the floor). If it’s going above a night table—or a console or buffet table—the bottom of the mirror should be about six inches from the tabletop. This creates a small gap, which is helpful when placing lamps or decor. I hope that helps!
