Equinox No. 4 is here 🍂

Four new scents for the season of slowing down ✨

Honey Pear 🍐 pear, brown sugar, vanilla
Ember Oak 🧣cedar bark, clove, tonka
Cashmere Amber 🍂 pumpkin, cashmere musk, sandalwood
Berry Crumble 🫐 blueberry, cinnamon, vanilla

Each one is hand-poured in Toronto with coconut soy wax and a crackling wood wick.

Ever notice a candle smells amazing on day one,
then seems weaker a few weeks into the season? 🕯️

There’s a reason for it and it’s called scent blindness.
Your smell receptors are built to notice change, so when you burn the same scent for a while, they slowly stop firing.
The candle is still giving off just as much fragrance.
Your brain has simply tuned it out.
It’s the same reason you can’t smell your own home, but a guest notices it the second they walk in.

This happens most in fall and winter, when we burn the same scents for weeks.

A few things that help:
Keep 2–3 scents in rotation so your nose stays awake,
and when a candle smells weak, step outside for fresh air instead of reaching for coffee beans (that trick is a myth I used to believe too, a Beloit College study found they work no better than plain ol’ air 😬).

And if you’re wondering whether it’s your nose or the candle: Walk away, then come back.
If it smells strong again, it was your nose.
If even a cold candle smells faint,
the fragrance oils more than likely have evaporated over time.

Save this for the season so you get every last hour out of every candle. ✨
