My heart has always been in design, but after 17 years in the apparel industry, I was starting to get burnt out. When I first started collecting vintage rugs, I never thought it would turn into a job, much less, my full time career. But you supported me as my side hustle took shape and helped me grow this little business to what it is today.

Not many people are lucky enough to get to do what they love. I am truly grateful for each and every one of you who help make this dream a reality. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🫶

Sneak Peek 👀

Our entryway is finally coming together with the addition of some amazing antique art pieces we’ve been collecting. Somehow this was the trickiest space to design. Can you believe these stairs were carpeted when we moved in?! Who would do that to such a gorgeous staircase? 🤯 Nat and my father-in-law had it stripped out on day one, before we even moved our stuff in. And then it sat like that for two years, lol. Once we started our reno, we finally stripped the paint from the original staircase to match the front door and the millwork around the doors. One day, I hope to do the skirting boards, but that was more than we had money for at the time. Choosing a paint colour for this space was exceptionally difficult. We landed on a gorgeous olive green which I love, but I must admit, I’m having pangs of regret that I didn’t go with a dramatic oxblood. What do you think? Should I work up the courage to stand on a 15ft ladder and repaint it? 😬

Needless to say, the vintage rug really steals the show here anyway. This one-of-a-kind beauty is from our upcoming collection that is launching soon. Be sure to sign up for our Insider mailing list to get first dibs.

I’m sloooooooowly easing back in after a much needed trip to the cottage. There’s something about waking up to coffee by the river that just soothes the soul, ya know?

At the same time, I’m thrilled to get back to our home and most of all, my garden. I’ve been planting like crazy and things are really starting to pop now. 🌼 I’ll have to share some photos with you soon.

I typically take it pretty easy during the summer as so many of you are away as well, but I do have a very special collection coming to the shop soon(ish). In the meantime, here’s one of our most loved vintage rugs from the shop, staged three different ways. Which one is your fav?

I’m a sucker for her rich, earthy palette and the gorgeous bird motif that graces the field of this semi-antique Shiraz. It’s easy to see why y’all have been so crazy about her. I think she would bring warmth and a bit of soulfulness to almost any decor…is she your dream rug?

Ever wondered what the difference is between a beautiful house and a soulful HOME? It’s not always easy to put your finger on what’s missing to give your space that extra warmth and charm that makes it cozy, lived in, and maybe even a bit mysterious. The truth is the most welcoming places that put our minds at ease, tend to be decorated over time…slowly collected through our travels, thrift store finds, and one of a kind handmade treasures passed down through generations. Each piece we collect should bring joy into our lives. You simply can’t get that “je ne sais quoi” from a generic big box store.

Here are 13 ways we elevated our house when we renovated. I love how it feels like a home that has been collected over time and it’s truly one of the most relaxing spaces for my frazzled nervous system. Which ones are your favourite?

1. Vintage rugs
2. Cozy sheepskins
3. Natural textures / Linen bedding (an absolute dream for hot sleepers)
4. Vintage fixtures & furniture
5. Warm wood
6. Natural stone
7. Thoughtful lighting (I have a personal vendetta against pot lights)
8. Moody palettes
9. Exposed brick
10. Living finishes / Unlacquered brass
11. Lots of plants
12. Antique books
13. Collected art

Tribal Khamseh vintage rugs have been one of my favourites since I started collecting and selling these beautiful pieces of floor art. Khamseh was a confederation of tribes in southern Persia with similar weaving styles to the Qashqai and Afshar peoples. The weaving from this area is known for its imaginative depictions of daily tribal life as well as the hopes and dreams of the weaver herself. The Khamseh are well known for their triple medallions and bird-filled fields (try saying that 3 times fast!). This piece is a classic example and the palette simply cannot be beat. The salmon pinks and corals in this historic piece are complimented by dusty blue, deep navy, and ivory. The harmony and creativity the weaver instilled in this semi-antique Khamseh excites my design senses and keeps me coming back, over and over again.

Soak in the glorious artistry and colour palettes that can only be created by hand, knot by knot, each yarn lovingly dyed with natural veggie and root dyes.
