Travelling to the Old World inspires the new…and so, we make getaway plans for the year ahead ~ markers in the sand to experience another place where mystery and delight await.

As a creative, experiencing other places (especially those otherworldly) fuels the imagination…and through intention and a curious lens, inspires new perspectives…and sometimes we surprise ourselves.

Time is so precious, and with awareness, we seek and embrace what makes our heart skip a beat.

So grateful to do what I love.

A minimalist ensuite for two.

Medicine cabinets sit behind tall metal framed mirrors providing ample storage, each accessed by a discrete tab pull. Designed prioritizing function and low maintenance and with teamwork, all aspects were aligned and installed with precision. What appears simplistic often involves the most coordination and detail. Love how this turned out.

Making a statement with or without a flame.

A favourite room where we designed a tailored envelope to receive a blend of antique and contemporary pieces, along with some quietly stunning quartzite.

Early this spring I travelled to Munich and spent time behind the scenes at the Nymphenburg Porcelain Factory, an extension of the Bavarian royal house of Wittelsbach, with methods dating back to and evolving since it’s establishment in 1747.

‘Porcelain - the “white gold” - was considered one of the most valuable and sought-after luxury goods of the time, and it was cared for and revered with the same respect as religious relics and/or precious stones. Porcelain was the epitome of courtly sophistication and was used to the highest degree for representative purposes…Each plate and cup was marked with the diamond pattern of the Bavarian coat of arms so that the Nymphenburg porcelain became an electoral export brand.’ (Excerpts from the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg website.)

Time spent exploring a process and setting almost otherworldly in today’s age is priceless, and perhaps an inspiration to slow down, appreciate both innately fluid and thoughtful creativity, and revere aspects of timelessness.

Thank you and for making this happen. Swipe to see BTS photos.

The second floor lounge. Having a space to share and put your feet up one floor up, where the light is perhaps a bit brighter and you’re removed from the hustle of the main floor is the best. We embellished this space in calming tones to invite and embrace with a language that extends throughout the home.

*Remnants from our Tempest Blue slabs were used to clad the sides of a structural post making it a feature enjoyed from all sides.
