Newest creation!
I thought I'd try a Chaos butcher board. This bad boy is about 18"x18" and a full 2" thick.
All walnut (including some sapwood) and cherry.
Scroll through the pics to see the difference from before the oil. I'll finish this of with some beeswax and 😉 this one is for me.

So happy to be building again. This one is for us! 9' Solid walnut breakfast bar almost finished. Just have to fill and paint the drywall back and wait for the metal chairs to arrive in a week or so.

I finished another box!
Although this one is a little more elaborate than the others.
This jewelry cabinet is solid white oak with maple drawers and basswood all from WoodCache. Finished in multiple coats of fresh made shellac.
This beauty is going to a very deserving client who has been patiently waiting for me to finish.

Lots of new lessons in this piece. The kumiko panels were definitely a first for me but it was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do some more.

On to the next project!

The doors have been re-done and I'm happy! 😊

Mistakes happen!
Did anyone notice in my last post that there was something off?

Something was bugging when I went back and looked. The top and bottom rails on the door are slightly different widths. Had to be this way because I'm fitting kumiko panels in there but the right door was installed upside down 😂
The thicker rail should have been on the bottom.

Maybe some people wouldn't notice, but I did!

It has to be done right so, I'm off to make new doors....

Project update!
Got the double doors hung last night. Just a little refining and they're ready for finish, mirrors and Kumiko inserts.

Got the frame assembled today.
I filled the pours with pumice stone and several coats of fresh blonde shellac.
First time using hide glue. I think I like it more than my usual go-to of titebond 3.

The outside will get more finish at the end but inside is done.
On to the drawers.....
