My last Raku firing was kind of a disaster — the kind that leaves you standing in silence, wondering how everything unraveled so fast. Just when you think you’ve learned the language of clay, it reminds you who’s really in charge.

This piece though, is from a previous successful firing. A quiet reminder that mastery in this craft is always fleeting. Every potter knows this dance: the love, the hate, the quiet masochism that keeps us coming back for more.

I’ve never made anything quite like this glaze.
It refuses to be tamed — shifting with every small decision: the angle of my hand, the pause before I pour, how long I let it linger in the bucket. I always swear while applying it (the cleanup is pure chaos), and I always gasp when I open the kiln. Every piece emerges different — unpredictable, imperfect, but somehow always stunning.

Each time I step beyond the walls of my studio and into a show like , I’m reminded of the strength of community.
The kindness, the warmth, the conversations that linger long after the lights dim—these are the things that make the grind worthwhile.

Putting together a show is never a solo act. I’m grateful to IDS for the space to share my work, to every friend, colleague and visitor who stopped by with encouragement, to my wonderful booth neighbors for carrying the hours with humor, and to my constant —who quite literally shouldered every burden with me.

This show will remain with me for a long, long time 🖤

Introducing NOX

A fully ceramic table lamp — both base and shade — each lamp is wheel thrown and offered in various glaze finishes like the textural crawl white, a metallic black bronze, a luminous smoke marked Raku Crackle and a deep lustrous glossy Oxblood - the studio’s first foray into color.

The inclusion of a dimmer k**b on the ceramic body in matte black, brass or mother of pearl, is a small but deliberate gesture that elevates Nox beyond function into quiet luxury.

Sculpture and light, form and utility — NOX is designed as a legacy object, celebrating the beauty of clay.

2024 was a year that I didn’t want but needed. It was my first year stepping into a whole new category (lighting!) of work and so the entire year pretty much felt like the slow down before a 90 degree turn.

I made some big pivots, evaluated some priorities and spent many MANY hours being stuck in my own head.

I did manage to do and witness some pretty cool things this year though.

1. Exhibiting at IDS Toronto in Jan
2. Making the very first plaster molds for Oyster and Pearl sconces
3. Celebrating 15 years with my habibi in March 🖤 how I manage to get more obsessed with him with every passing year will forever be my favorite mystery.
4. Getting center spread on Interior Design’s annual Giants of Design issue alongside M Moser in April
5. Exhibiting at ICFF in New York in May
6. An absolute plaster disaster in the studio that took me weeks to scrub off every surface 🫠
7. A new collection of vessels that challenged my obsession with symmetry
8. STRIPES!
9. Threw some new vessels in September that took me way too long to fire
10. Obvara and Raku firing with the wonderful folks of Sea to Sky Potters Guild in October
11. Flew to NY on a very cool work trip and attended BDNY for the first time.
12. Shipped the Manara lamp to the states for the first time
13. and 14. Some new work for a custom commission made in the sweet silence of the holidays (more on this collab next month)

Again, it was so not the year I expected when I closed out 2023, but it was what I needed in more ways than one.

As always, excited for a new year and for all its possibilities and as always, grateful to have you along for the ride.

Happy 2025 everyone 🖤

A (very) limited collection of smoke fired vessels going up on the website on Thursday, Dec 5 at 1pm PST. Im very thrilled with this little batch - some of the very best Ive pulled from the pit.

This is my segue into having an ‘in stock’ section on the website with an update every couple months so there’s a healthy batch to pick from everytime you have ‘styling’ needs.
